Teaching Experience:
I am an experienced teacher with a PGCE, who has taught privately one to one for a number of years. I have primarily taught English on a one to one basis for tutees who are preparing for their GCSE and "A" level examinations, but I am also experienced in helping tutees improve their literacy skills from a young age. One to one teaching, by its nature, is very intense, so it is very important to introduce variety as much as possible. A mixture of written work, as well as oral work, if required is essential to keep the tutee focused and interested in what you are teaching. Tutoring Approach:
One to one tuition or group tuition for primary school aged children, one to one tuition for G.C.S.E., one to one tuition for A-level and university level. I have experience with different ages and my passion is teaching ESOL to any learner who requires help and support with the English language. I can teach IELTS English, ESOL courses to adults and children, Cambridge First Certificate, Functional Skills English, English at primary and secondary level which is KS1, 2 and 3 and I also teach general English to improve ones language.
My teaching method is initially teacher centred then predominantly student centred. Teaching methods can include paper based tasks, use of a tablet for English games, puzzles and listening tasks, question and answer tasks and having a natural conversation with the student is the best way to improve a students natural fluency.
My teaching methodology would depend on the individual student and what they need. I would adapt my teaching methods to suit the needs of any student.

I have got masses of experience. I have been teaching and giving private lessons in ESOL and EAL for over 15 years. I have taught a wide range of learners from young children to adults. I have taught students as young as 7 years up to students in their 50's.
I taught in Hungary in Eastern Europe for 2 and a half years, whilst there I taught a number of private students English. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching abroad as my skills were enhanced.
I have taught students and have experience of working in secondary schools, colleges and adult centres. The primary student I taught received positive feedback from her teacher at school saying she really improved in her writing and spelling.

I use a very flexible approach so we can work at a pace that suits you. For my lessons, I use PowerPoint presentations to guide us through grammar and example sentences. Because of this setup, we have a good structure but can easily "flip back" to old grammar points if you need a refresher. I also try to get to know your hobbies and interests so I can use them in our examples - it makes the language much more relevant to your life.

Homework is entirely up to you and your own pace. I can set weekly vocabulary, sentence practice, or flashcards, but it's always your choice. For online lessons, I use Teams or Google Meet, which is very seamless. If we meet in person, I'll bring my laptop to go through the same content, along with any textbooks or paper resources we might need.

Most importantly, I keep things friendly and relaxed. It's 100% okay to make mistakes in my lessons - it's all part of the journey!
