Since 2004 I have been working as a freelance tutor of Economics, as a translator (from English into German and vice versa), as a journalist and book author. I'm currently working in finance for Molson Coors, having previously worked in external audit for PwC for 4 years where I obtained my ACA qualification.
Prior to this I was a student studying Economics at the University of Birmingham, where I achieved a first level BSc. Firstly, I'll set up a folder on google drive which is shared with the parent to allow them to track the progress of their child.

Within this folder, parents will find detailed updates including what has been completed in each lesson, homework assignments set, and the marks received. Additionally, there is a syllabus checklist available which tracks the topics covered and indicates the student's confidence in each area. This comprehensive approach ensures that parents are always up-to-date and can actively engage in their child's academic progress.

Every session will be tailored to the students needs and taught in a way that suits their learning style. I build strong bonds with the students that allow them to feel comfortable and ask any question that they have.

I guide my students towards obtaining correct answers with a series of well-placed questions rather than providing them with information to 'rote learn'.

I'm currently studying for a BSc in Economics at Durham University, where I'll be entering my second year after achieving a first-class average in my first year. Before university, I achieved A*AA at A-level in Economics, Mathematics and Chemistry, alongside an A* in an EPQ exploring the economic impact of AI on the UK economy.

I've always been fascinated by how the world works, which is what drew me to Economics. I particularly enjoy macroeconomics, microeconomics and financial markets, and I love following economic news and seeing how the theories we learn apply to real-world events.

Outside of my degree, I play football for my college team, and I'm also interested in personal finance and investing.

I wanted to become a tutor because Economics is a subject I genuinely enjoy, and I'd love to help students build both their confidence and understanding.
