I have been teaching for the past eight years and am currently Head of Law and a teacher of Economics at a secondary school rated as outstanding by OFSTED. Previous to teaching I graduated in 2006 from Loughborough University with a BSc Hons degree in Banking, Finance and Management, I then worked for three years as a trainee quantity surveyor on a civil engineering project at the Olympic site in Stratford before training to become a teacher. My approach to Tutoring is one on one, each student is unique, with different learning abilities, and prefer different learning styles. There is no one size fits all lesson. One on one is beneficial to students, as a tutor I will have to continually assess each one academically and tailor my lessons to their particular needs. This way each child is able to achieve their full potential.

Small groups tutoring does work in certain situations where students are friends and prefer to learn together as they motivate and learn form each other especially in times of revision. My approach to tutoring will mostly depends on the individual's needs.

Hi, I'm Yash and I'm in my 1st year of University studying economics at the University of Nottingham. I have recently completed my A-levels achieving A*AA in Maths, Economics and Chemistry respectively from the Skinners' School. I have a passion for teaching and am particularly familiar with current GCSE and A-Level content and concepts, as I myself have recently studied these specifications in depth.

Teaching Experience:
I am extremely flexible in my teaching style as I realize it is important to adapt my methods to the needs of my students. Experience in one-to-one coaching over the past few years has provided me with the necessary skillset to create an effective revision plan and structure to my lessons. I aim to create an environment where my students can enjoy the lesson, as well as openly ask questions and improve their knowledge base and exam technique. This has resulted in excellent feedback, which makes me confident in my ability to tutor students of any age or ability.

I like to focus my teaching on the techniques required to guarantee high marks in difficult questions by using experience I have of past papers and mark schemes after ensuring a solid foundational understanding of the topics. I have lots of good advice, tips and tricks, as well as plenty of resources that I am keen to share with my students!

Before tutoring, I worked in the city for large blue chip financial services organisations within technology and data architecture. And before that I worked for tech companies including Microsoft and Uber, taking some time to organise an expedition to Antarctica on behalf of HRH Prince Wales, the Commonwealth and the BBC. I've learned how to build and lead world-class teams and really enjoy bringing a love of mentoring into tutoring key subjects.

My experience working with young people stems from my time as a mountain guide, where I took groups of children on outdoor expeditions, teaching them about the environment and leadership.

Achieved an A* in Economics and A in Maths. Tutoring will be done over zoom due to immobility as result of University.

Tutoring experience in GCSE maths, very passionate about economics and mathematics and look to help younger years achieve the highest grades possible using the techniques I used to achieve these high grades.

Focus on question practice as I believe that a student can have all the knowledge in the world but if they do not know how to apply it correctly then they will not be able to access high marks, with Economics a focus on understanding and mastering how to write perfect essays are key and with mathematics repitition is key in order to solidify topics into the long term memory.
