Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is tailor-made, meaning that I am always seeking to adjust to the particular needs of each student. In some sessions, especially those that are close to the exam period, I focus on developing their exam skills and go through some well-tested revision techniques.

For all sessions, the objective is to make the class as interactive as possible. I follow the "Socratic" approach to learning, whereby I guide my students towards obtaining the correct answers with a series of well-placed questions rather than providing the answers straight away. Lastly, I advocate an empirical understanding of theoretical concepts, thus frequently referencing real-world examples from my work in finance and seeking to bring theory to life through life examples, cards, games, and financial trading.

I am very patient and endeavor to build a strong working relationship with my students based on honesty and openness. I have high expectations of myself and my students, and as a result, I can be very demanding yet always committed to helping them achieve their goals. I pride myself in my RELIABILITY - meaning that I will never abandon a student before the exams or any other key commitments that he/she might have. I am extremely flexible in my teaching style as I realize it is important to adapt my methods to the needs of my students. Experience in one-to-one coaching over the past few years has provided me with the necessary skillset to create an effective revision plan and structure to my lessons. I'm currently studying for a BSc in Economics at Durham University, where I'll be entering my second year after achieving a first-class average in my first year. Before university, I achieved A*AA at A-level in Economics, Mathematics and Chemistry, alongside an A* in an EPQ exploring the economic impact of AI on the UK economy.

I've always been fascinated by how the world works, which is what drew me to Economics. I particularly enjoy macroeconomics, microeconomics and financial markets, and I love following economic news and seeing how the theories we learn apply to real-world events.

Outside of my degree, I play football for my college team, and I'm also interested in personal finance and investing.

I wanted to become a tutor because Economics is a subject I genuinely enjoy, and I'd love to help students build both their confidence and understanding. It's a fantastic subject that opens the door to a wide range of careers while developing valuable analytical and quantitative skills. Over the past year, I've been running my own A-level Economics tutoring business, working with students across the Edexcel specification.
