Sarah began her acting career by winning a prized place with the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, receiving the Princes Trust Mercury Communication Award for her achievements. The National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, being an organisation for whom she later worked in many theatre disciplines. To consolidate her talents, Drama Studio London awarded her a full acting scholarship to attend their Post Graduate Acting Course. She has extensive experience both as a teacher and professional actor. Theatre credits include playing the leads in Deadly Night Cap, Popcorn (National Tour Bruce James Productions), This Happy Breed (Grange Court Theatre) and Miss Julie (winning both the Dorris Berryman and Wakeman Trophies) as well as commercials and TV, including Eon Energy, Hitman and Her and numerous voice overs for prime time TV Shows including Orange Play List, UK Music Hall of Fame and Strictly Come Dancing. In Reading for Understanding, Analysis and Evaluation (previously Close Reading), my experience as an SQA marker provides tutees with an invaluable insight into exam strategies needed for success. Certainly, this experience leads me to use a specific question type / specific formula answer approach. Tutees are encouraged to identify a particular question type, e.g. 'the context question', and then use the appropriate formula to gain maximum marks. Thereafter, the tutee is asked to practise this particular type of question whilst also undertaking whole close reading passages containing said question type.

In the critical examination of literature, particular attention is given to structure and developing a mature, yet fresh, personal response. I tend to adopt a modelling approach. Effectively, the tutee and I draft a first core essay on a given text, say, for example, 'Romeo and Juliet' Using this exemplar, the tutee is then assigned further essay questions, drawing upon this core essay as a guideline. Support is given throughout the writing process and constructive feedback is offered in the form of stage-appropriate targets to ensure progress.

I have been a professional performer for over 14 years with experience in all different types of acting. From voice to physical theatre! I've done it all!

When I was very young I starred in multiple theatre roles, developing various skills and delving into the works of many drama and theatre practitioners such as Stanislavski, Brecht, Artaud, Chekhov, Berkoff and many, many more!
