Most recently I have been working as a senior manager in a software engineering company. I am approaching retirement age and returning to teaching. I also work in the Prisons Service and the NHS as a psychodrama psychotherapist and have an enhanced DBS. I will be accepting new students in September 2025.

I have taught GNVQ and A Level at Oxpens FE College in Oxford, and I have taught on the Open University Databases and SQL Level 3 (advanced degree) course. In my first lesson I will find the gaps in a student's knowledge. Often a student has a clear idea of what they need help on, but I also find that diagnostic assessment will help find other knowledge gaps the student is not aware of.

I will then address these knowledge gaps with specific tailor-made lessons. At the end of the lesson I use summative assessment to determine if they have improved. In future lessons I will re-test the student to see if they have retained this knowledge.
