I started working as a tutor in London and Surrey in 2013/2014, mainly for students who had been excluded from school. In 2015 I relocated and began tutoring private clients in East Anglia. In 2016 I started offering online tuition, first using Skype, and now with Zoom. I now tutor virtually all of my students online, though I will occasionally tutor at a student's home when my schedule permits.

Tutoring Approach:
For younger students, I assess them on their first appointment to see where their strengths and weaknesses are. In my current role, I have full responsibility of delivering the new qualifications from S1 BGE through to Advanced Higher Computing Science. I have made the changes to our course and continue to develop these and the changes have been seamless in ensuring a smooth transition into the National Qualifications. I have been working on small projects for some companies and mostly working on freelance websites. I've been tutoring friends and other people aged between 12 and 24 for a while and I want to continue doing it.

I would first start with the basics, providing an understanding of underlaying concepts before showing examples that the student has to understand. I have tailored made courses for individuals and groups on all levels from government officials, seasoned professionals, and new to the scene. After graduating from the Computer Education and Instructional Technology department in 2005, I gave training in private computer courses for 2 years. Then I worked as a Computer and Software Teacher at the Ministry of National Education for 15 years. During this time, I worked as a freelance in the fields of Web site design and graphic design. Since I worked in the field of Instructional Technologies for 4 years in undergraduate education, I specialized in managing the learning and teaching process in a student-centered manner. In 2021, I still continue to be the founding trainer of a company, which provides consultancy and software training in the field of IT.
I summarize my approach to education and teaching philosophy with this sentence: I change my teaching way if a child can't learn. Apart from my IT expertise, I have 16 years of teaching experience in the field of dance teaching. I also have expertise in Creative Movement and Dance Therapy, where I am still working in various dance schools and organizations in London.

My name is Benjie. I'm a recent Computer Science graduate from University of Highlands and Islands. I am excited about the opportunity to help others build their confidence in programming, mastering the school curriculum, or overcoming complex concepts.

I'm very passionate about many computing related topics, as well as working with people and understanding their individual needs.

I have experience in various programming languages (Python, JavaScript, PHP, Go, C, HTML/CSS, Visual Basic, Java), and other technologies (Databases, Linux, Networking, etc.).
I finished school in Edinburgh just over 4 years ago, so I'm familiar with the school system.

I am able to travel within Orkney, but will have to charge for travel expenses.

Teaching Experience:
I have helped friends learn programming and overcome computing concepts, and I'm excited to start tutoring and help other learn.

Tutoring Approach:
I will prepare individual lessons based on what students need to learn. The lessons will be paced to match a student's individual needs and learning styles, and I can be patient and empathise with anyone finding a subject challenging.

* Head of Computing and ICT at school in County Durham. * Worked as 2nd in Department as Teacher of Computing at School in Durham where I taught for 9 years. *Specialise in Computer Science at GSCE OCR for both papers 1 and 2 as well as Python coding that will assist the students project and exam technique. *I also specialise at Computing at A Level OCR where I teach all the aspects of the paper one section of the course from Hardware, Software to the Mathematical side of Computing. * I am currently the lead mentor at my school for Computer Science trainee teachers where I aim to try and support the trainee as much as possible in the classroom to help them progress. * Currently exam mark for OCR at both GCSE and A Level. I also mark and moderate for the exam board for Imedia along with Cambridge Technicals Level 3 in IT. * I have plenty of hours of online tutoring offered to students and use the latest technology available to show progress for the students in my care. * Vast knowledge of IGCSE Computing where I have been tutoring international students. * Always try to keep up to date with the technology world that is ever changing, humorous and very outgoing personality. * Always felt that I have built up excellent rapport with students over the years and that it helps the students get the best possible results. * Father of 2 boys (14 and 11), enjoy all aspects of sport especially Cricket, Football and Golf.
