I have a dual background in Electrical Engineering and Psychology and retired in 2007 after 20 years as a University lecturer. At different stages in my career I have taught telecommunications engineering, computer programming, software engineering, artificial intelligence and psychology. For relaxation I listen to jazz and blues.

Teaching Experience:
I have been tutoring students since March 2008 and am able to offer maths, physics and ICT from primary up to 'A' level, and general science (biology, chemistry, and physics) up to GCSE level. I have taught GCE A-level Maths, Further Maths and Physics with a number of students who have obtained places at Oxbridge/ Russell Group Universities to study Engineering, Maths, Medicine and Economics. A number of my tutees have been following courses in IGCSE Maths or Science or the IB in Maths or Physics. 👦👧 What will your child will learn?

My lessons are designed specifically for KS2 learners (ages 7-11), and this may be useful for some older children catching up on coding and computing. The lessons will cover concepts in the DfE National curriculum for England, and usually we will go beyond the curriculum very swiftly.

I will start by loosely adhering to the Raspberry Pi's scratch modules which cover algorithms, and building with code. However, I believe in child led learning. If your child is less interested in making games or programming animations, and is more interested in technology and robots, we will follow the BBC's micro:bit projects. 🎓 These can be followed by a gentle introduction to Python when they are ready (a widely used text based programming language).

Beyond the meat of the coding, there are also other skills we will cover like digital safety, and how to use search tools effectively.

My name is Toufic, I'm 40 years old originally from Lebanon. I have an Engineering Degree in Software Development from the University of Burgundy (France), and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with Distinction from Bradford University (UK). I am currently working as the Web Development Manager.

Teaching Experience:
I enjoy teaching, and love sharing my knowledge with different types of people, either young beginners or adults.
I helped many young students who had difficulties in their academic studies. But I also taught adults and professionals both IT skills and the French/Arabic language either spoken or written.
