Hello! My name is Gemma and I am a 32 year old doctor, chartered accountant, strategy consultant and successful start up founder. I graduated in medicine from Nottingham University in 2016, switched to finance, became a qualified chartered accountant, and now work for one of the 'Big4' in health advisory and strategic consulting. However, my heart will always lie with the sciences, and somehow in amongst all of my wide ranging career, my favourite job has always been teaching.

Tutoring Approach:
I work exclusively online via Zoom, with a shared interactive whiteboard, structured homework, and direct email communication between sessions.

Each engagement begins with a diagnostic session. I assess the student's current level, identify the specific gaps in their understanding, and build a tailored programme from there. Every student receives a strategy designed around their syllabus and their individual goals.

Typical sessions combine targeted concept work and past-paper practice. Between lessons, homework is prepared and shared on the whiteboard; I follow up by email once it is ready. Progress is reviewed continuously, and the plan is adjusted accordingly.

My students are expected to invest effort between sessions and complete their homework. I work with a small, carefully selected cohort of students each term. Places are limited and not all enquiries are accepted. I hold a current PVG Scheme certificate and am fully vetted. I am a Biomedical Master's student with a First-class BSc. in Biochemistry. I studied Maths (A*), Biology (A*), and Chemistry (A) at A-level. I offer well-rounded Maths and Science tuition geared towards the UK syllabus at competitive rates, and have a passion for life sciences.

Teaching Experience:
I have over 7 years of experience working as a private tutor, and have taught Maths, Biology and Chemistry to students ranging from KS3 to A-level. I also teach Physics to GCSE level.
