I have been a teacher for many years having received my PGCE in 1992. Since that time I have worked in a variety of schools in the state and private sectors both in London and Oxfordshire. Teaching physics is a great privilege and pleasure having taught A Level physics for both OCR and Edexcel boards as well as GCSE and iGCSE physics and chemistry. My name is Michael, a penultimate year medical student. I hold a BSc Biochemistry degree with First Class Honours from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, a leading university in Hong Kong. I have a strong background in Sciences and Medicine. My passion in these subjects encouraged me to become a tutor, where I can guide and motivate students in their studies. My medical training also equipped me with patience, as well as strong communication skills and teaching skills. All these experiences shaped me to become an ideal tutor for students who want to achieve the best that they can do.

Besides academic, I am a black belt holder in Taekwondo, a Korean martial art. I started learning Taekwondo since I was six. I have taught students ranging from primary students to adults, in their pursuit of an active lifestyle and skills to defend themselves if needed.

Teaching Experience:
I have 6 years of tutoring experience in multiple formats. I have taught primary students in groups to guide them finishing their exercises and homework. I have also been tutoring 1-to-1 to a student in Hong Kong since she was in primary school. Her academic growth helped her getting into one of the most prestigious secondary schools. I have also been teaching my fellow medical students as part of my medical training, with positive feedback received.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach is to tailor the needs of the students. To provide personalised guidance, I always check how much the students know first, followed by setting goals for each lessons. I would focus on explaining the concepts rather than simply reciting facts. Also, with my extensive background in Sciences and Medicine, I would provide examples and interesting facts to keep students being engaged in learning and encourage their curiosity in the subjects.

Personal Description:
I'm a friendly, patient and approachable tutor who enjoys helping students develop both their knowledge and confidence. I believe that learning is most effective when students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and exploring ideas. My aim is to help each student make progress while developing a positive attitude towards learning.

Teaching Experience:
I have a Master's degree in Medicine, Science and Society from King's College London and decades of experience tutoring students on an individual basis. This has given me extensive experience adapting lessons to different abilities, learning styles and needs, as well as helping students prepare for exams and develop their understanding and confidence.

Tutoring Approach:
My main focus is on building confidence, as I find that confidence not only improves understanding but also encourages students to practise and engage with their learning. I aim to make lessons interesting and relevant by connecting topics to real-world applications and, where possible, the student's own interests. I adapt my approach to each individual, creating a supportive environment where students can ask questions, learn from mistakes and enjoy making progress.
