After completing my D.Phil from the University of Oxford, I worked for 7 years as a Senior Biologist for a small drug discovery company where I was responsible for screening new drug targets in tissue models for human disease. Over the years I've had so many comments from students/colleagues about my ability to break subjects down to ease understanding, and coupled with my passion for science and sharing that with others I decided to change career and become a full-time science tutor. Command Word Clarity: Understanding the difference between "describe," "explain," and "evaluate."
Memory Retention: Using proven techniques to ensure information sticks long-term.
Mark Scheme Mastery: Learning to write concise, high-scoring answers that hit every marking point.
Sessions are typically 60 minutes, though I offer flexibility to accommodate intensive revision or specific topic deep-dives.

I'm Tom, a science educator with over a decade of experience helping students build the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed. My sessions are calm, purposeful and always built around the individual in front of me.

Teaching Experience:
Over the years I've worked with students at every stage of secondary and post-secondary education, from early GCSE preparation through to A Level and beyond.
