Hello, I am a lecturer, writer and tutor based in Bristol. I enjoy working with students from many backgrounds and countries.

I currently work part-time in two Universities, and have been teaching for nearly ten years. I can help you revise for exams, with assignments and dissertations.

Teaching Experience:
Before teaching I worked in publishing and journalism. I have written a book called 'How to work as a freelance journalist' and I used to manage a magazine so also have lots of practical business experience too.

I teach journalism, business and employability. Mostly tutees I meet want help with specific things such as revising for exams or completing a difficult assignment. Often it is a case of working together to help improve your grades and reach deadlines.

I have taught students from all over the world including China, Malaysia and Qatar. I enjoy meeting new people and am keen to make sure that you get what you want from tutoring.

I therefore place a great emphasis on guiding students through the process of answering past paper questions, across all topic areas. In our sessions I will help with essay structure, illustrate how to use higher order analytical and evaluation skills, and crucially, how to apply an answer to information in a case study, or how to bring in real world examples.

Over the years I have taught an increasing proportion of students online, so that currently about 90% of my tutoring is done this way. I use Skype/Google Meet/Zoom and Google Docs, which students can also access. "Matt only got an E grade in his February A2 mock exam and the school predicted he would get a C grade at A2. With the significant assistance from Ian, Matt achieved an A* at A2. She received Denver Post Ovation Awards for her work in ALL MY SONS at the Denver Center, and RABBIT HOLE at the Curious Theatre, as well as the 2012 Culture West "Best Season by an Actress" award and the 2013 Culture West "Best Supporting Actress" in STEEL MAGNOLIAS at Senior Housing Options.

I produced two off-Broadway plays in New York City and two site-specific productions in Denver. I co-founded The Mile Square Theatre in Hoboken, NJ, now in its 16th year and I'm an Artistic Associate with Théâtre Du Rêve in Atlanta, GA.

I served as Literary Producer for LOCAL Theater Company, and adjudicated the LAB, a 3 day new play festival, for 7 years, and produced it for five. She is also a script scout for Noggin Sauce Pictures, a Colorado-based film company. Their short film, MRS. DRAKE, which I produced and performed in, has been in 18 film festivals in 2017, and won several awards. I am currently working on STILLNESS, a short film I wrote and will direct, with Five Fifty Five Productions here in London.

Since moving to London, I have been focusing on TV and Film, most recently shooting an episode of BERLIN STATION in Budapest.
