During the first session I present a short questionnaire that I ask the student to fill in (honestly!) in order for me to assess their individual learning styles (right brain vs. left brain, use of visual stimuli etc), so that I can respond best to their needs. I am also a financial adviser and have gained a substantial amount of experience in applying economic theory to financial markets. Such experience allows me to teach in a way that the subject is not simply abstract theory, as I am able to draw on real world examples whenever necessary.

Having also studied Business Studies and Maths to a high standard, both complementary subjects, I am able to offer context to my lessons whilst aiding with the technical aspects of Economics; Statistics and Econometrics.

Hello, I am a UK qualified teacher and have had a very interesting career in the UK and overseas. I lived in Australia for 2 years where I gained an MBA. I worked in the Middle East for 5 years. For the past few years, I have been an on-line tutor for a Paris school, a Budapest school and many private A level, IB and undergraduate students.

My teaching experience has been gained in a wide range of educational establishments, in the UK and overseas. I taught in an international boarding school for many years and taught students for whom English was their second language. I taught business related subjects in the Middle East in the training department of a multi-national oil company. Prior to this I worked in schools and colleges in Wales and England.

More recently, I have been tutoring economics and business on-line, using a variety of platforms including Zoom and MS Teams

Tutoring Approach:
At our first meeting, I will assess your strengths and weaknesses so that I can draw up an individual learning plan for you. The first 15 minutes are free.

I find that most students are capable of learning the content of the GCSE or A level syllabus, can remember the main concepts, but struggle to write a coherent A grade essay. If this is your weakness, then I will focus on developing your essay writing skills and I have lots of resources which I use to do this.
I understand that some of the economics and business concepts can be quite complex and some of the diagrams challenging, so I will be very patient with you and will make sure you fully understand every topic in the syllabus. I will stretch and challenge you to make sure that you stay at the top of your game and I will use materials appropriate to your ability.

My main objective is to help students gain confidence and instil in them a 'can do' attitude. This is something that I believe I am good at. I get great job satisfaction when I see my students develop self-confidence and reach their full potential.
