I have been teaching art for nearly 20 years. I teach drawing, painting and sculpture. I also teach papier-mâché technique to make masks and puppets.

I am a professional Theatre Stage and Costume Designer (M.F.A. graduated in 2004), and I have worked in many theatre productions in UK and abroad, as a stage, set and costume designer as well as a puppet maker. I am an artist and qualified primary school teacher interested in textiles, printmaking and material design. My degree was in History of Art and Material Studies so I love all things art. I work as an Associate Lecturer on the BA Painting Programme at Camberwell College of Arts (University of the Arts London), as a mentor on the Turps Painting Programme and was invited to be a Visiting Artist at Goldsmiths for 2023, and again for 2024. I am also a Dissertation Supervisor for Final Year students at Camberwell on their BA Programme. I also teach writing for a wide variety of audiences. Hi! My name is Claudia, I'm a 26 year old artist, illustrator, and mum of one.

I work part time in a secondary school/sixth form as an art technician and a large part of my role is assisting our wonderful students with their projects. I often get allocated 1:1 time with students that are having a harder time than others in some way, and I find this element of the job particularly rewarding.
Due to the nature of my work, I have a good understanding of the current curriculum, as well as the GCSE and A-Level programs.

Selected awards and commissions include Arts Council England, BFI, British Council, Wellcome, Jerwood, Sadler's Wells, BBC and Mayor of London. Graduate of École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Paris (Fine Art, scholarship prize); Birkbeck, University of London (Philosophy); Middlesex University, London (Fashion & Textiles).

Over 25 years lecturing across Arts: Fine Art, Film & Moving Image, Sound, Digital Media, Illustration, Animation, Graphics, Fashion & Textiles and Dance Film at UAL (CSM & CCA) and LCDS. Experience spans Foundation through to MA & Phd, including joint honours and cross-discipline students. Founder of KAS (Kennington Kinaesthetic Arts & Science), a Mayor of London Culture Seeds award-winning community arts and education project, bringing arts education to lower-income families on a voluntary basis since 2011.

Open, relaxed and tailored to you. I begin by listening and disciussing where you are now and where you'd like to get to - not a fixed syllabus. I'm equally at home working through a sketchbook, preparing a portfolio, discussing degree options, or walking a gallery together with a specific brief in mind. Particularly well suited to students who don't fit neatly into one box: A-level and Foundation students uncertain which direction to take or which degree to apply for; those considering cross-discipline or joint honours study; degree students thinking ahead to an MA; and adults at any stage. If you're unsure what you want to make or where you want to study, I can help you work that out. Nothing is set in stone on the first step - and that's often where the most interesting work begins.
