I primarily teach young people preparing for art portfolio presentations and university entrance exams. I make a policy to teach from life using the traditional teaching methods and techniques of the great masters from the Italian Renaissance as this is how I was educated. I teach my students to understand and use perspective, relationships, contrasts and composition. I teach any level of art student following an initial portfolio review. This portfolio review helps me see previous drawings students have done which helps me understand how to construct our lessons in order to achieve success.

Based on my volunteering experience I can introduce my self as an arts and craft tutor. Armley Park Primary School where I secured a lunch time assistant job. Here I earned the most valuable bit for my community experience working with children. My work at school was nothing to do with studied or lesson my involvement with children was when it was play time and lunch time. I could estimate a child's potential and allotted them some games. The best part was we could create any silly game and customised our own rules. In the dinning hall I helped the tiny new comers settle down and eat their lunch.

I was an art scholar at school, and studied Illustration (BA Hons) in Cambridge. Design and craft have always been a part of my career, but I began drawing again a few years ago now, during the evenings after my daughter had gone to bed and I was immediately reminded of the therapeutic effects drawing and being creative can be, especially for a creative mind.

I posted a couple on Instagram and they were sold within minutes. Since then, I have had the most amazing commission requests for the inks and over the last year have been commissioned several times to draw women during their later stages of pregnancy - such an intimate time to commemorate, each one is incredibly special.
The nudes evoke different energies, feelings, emotions - celebrating all bodies, all curves, and all that a body can do and enjoy.

I work across all media - sculpting is a huge favourite of mine, along with botanical watercolours, and portrait sketches.

I would love to help those wanting to explore art in general, understand the basics, explore different styles and find a new outlet. For those wanting to improve, I would also love to help.

I am also an artist, selling paintings locally through various galleries, a writer and the illustrator of several published books. I`m the author of two books: `Soul Color, a ten week course on watercolour painting to cultivate creativity and mindfulness`, and `Earth Color, an eight week art course for nature connection`. I have worked in the film and television industry since 2004. I lead large teams of specialist designers, art directors, junior assistants, crafts people and construction teams. And I collaborate closely with other experts within the industry including cinematographers, directors and screenwriters.

A production designer designs the worlds in which the TV Drama or film is set. That includes working with location people to choose locations in which to film - and building sets in studios. It can also involve working closely with SFX teams. The role juggles creative vision with practical project management. It's a collaborative media/ industry and relies heavily on communication skills- visual and verbal.

Teaching Experience:
I've tutored students looking to win a place in art schools/universities and specialist creative high schools. Students looking to better their results at A level, and I've taught larger classes of young adults in university and workshops. I help my four year old with his art and design too : )

Tutoring Approach:
My approach depends on the students needs and I am very flexible. I can work in a very focused way with the students brief on course curriculum. Or more loosely- developing verbal and practical skills for a portfolio for art school/media design or communication courses. I'm down to earth and structured in my approach.

Open, relaxed and tailored to you. I begin by listening and disciussing where you are now and where you'd like to get to - not a fixed syllabus. I'm equally at home working through a sketchbook, preparing a portfolio, discussing degree options, or walking a gallery together with a specific brief in mind. Particularly well suited to students who don't fit neatly into one box: A-level and Foundation students uncertain which direction to take or which degree to apply for; those considering cross-discipline or joint honours study; degree students thinking ahead to an MA; and adults at any stage.
