I am a mature lady (60yo) with a 1st Class Electrical/Electronic Engineering Degree (B.Sc) and a Postgraduate Management qualification from Cambridge University. My own 'A' Levels were Biology, Maths and Physics with a particular focus on electronics. At University I studied Maths at degree level.

After working as an Engineer I changed career in my late 20s and moved into the world of Therapy and Healing. I trained in hypnotherapy and craniosacral therapy as well as Human Design. I have worked with young people utilising various modalities to help them gain confidence and choose careers/subjects that bring out the best in them. I studied for a time in a Rudolph Steiner environment so I appreciate the value of alternative approaches and Artistic therapies to educating young people. I was also a member of the Steiner Academy Appeals panel for some time in Hereford.

From 2009 to 2012 I worked in an Admin capacity for OFSTED travelling around Schools and Colleges up and down the SW of England. My particular area of responsibility was the safeguarding and protection of children.

In 2011 I attended an Introduction to Autism training with the HANDLE organisation as I increasingly meet young people struggling on the Autism spectrum so this topic is of particular interest to me. I would be able to help refer any child who needed more specialised care. Related to this I have also been studying Human Design which is an invaluable tool for understanding how unique we all are.

I have a non-verbal family member who I am very close to and have devoted much of the last decade to working with her and bringing out her latent ability to communicate in novel ways.

I am friendly, empathic and good with younger people. I listen and watch and adapt to each situation I meet. I endeavour to help bring out the best in people on all levels. I am offering a broad ranging expertise. I would say the help I really bring is an encouragement for the person to express who they uniquely are and to feel empowered to meet life in new ways.

I have extensive experience as a senior regional moderator for GCSE examinations in art and design with a leading examinations board, being responsible for supervising the work of a team of visiting moderators in the south east of England, and for resolving disputes with schools. I do voluntary work for the National Trust, giving occasional talks to schools on symbolism in Tudor portraits.

Having started my career as a graphic designer I had, by necessity, to broaden my experience and skills into other two and three-dimensional media in order to become a successful teacher. Award-winning director Kezia Barnett is a filmmaker with over a decades experience. She creates short films and music videos and has been directing international commercials since 2004.

With a degree in Fine Arts, she has an appreciation of film, photography and fine art in a practical, theoretical aesthetic way as well as technical.

Kezia has won numerous awards in recent years. She was the only director from the region presented in the Saatchi and Saatchi Young Directors Showcase in 2005. At the inaugural advertising award show, The Kodak Gongs, held in Sydney in 2005, Kezia was given the Young Director of the Year award.

Her directorial successes have also been awarded at music video and short film festivals. Kezia won the award for Best Commercial Spot with Love Story at the L.A. Shorts Fest in 2006 - this Hollywood event is the largest short film festival in the world.

In her commercial work Kezia has produced work for, and in, various cities and territories including the UK, New York, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Kezia has worked alongside some of New Zealand's most prestigious bands, making videos, including Goodshirt and Pluto. At the Juice Music Video Awards, in 2006, Kezia's music video Hands for Sarah Brown won Video of the Year. In 2005 her Cement video, for Goodshirt, won the People's Choice award at the Below Ground Music Video Fest in Sydney and in 2004 Goodshirt's Buck it Up won Best Group Video at the Juice TV awards.

She has written and directed several short films including Sweet As Candy (2003), Paperdoll Girl (2000) and Cyber Kicks (1999). These have been shown in both local and international festivals. Sweet As Candy is distributed by BritShorts.

BACKGROUND

Whilst studying at Auckland University she gained straight A grades and was awarded several scholarships including the Senior Scholarship in Film and Television and Media Studies, the Elam Art Scholarship and the NZ Federation of University Women's Final Year First Degree Scholarship.

She gained top in New Zealand in Bursary Photography (last year of high school).

In 1998 she was live-in field director / camera operator for More Flatmates (a documentary / reality TV programme) where she lived in a flat and documented the lives of her flatmates for 5 months.

During her early directing years she also worked in the art department, designing short films and worked on drama, TV programs and commercials.

Art exhibitions include: Barnett Newman - Calendar Girl (1997), at the George Fraser Gallery and Light Bytes (2003 & 2008 - projected animations on a four-storey high billboard in High Street, Auckland), in collaboration with Lesley Kaiser.

I have given various talks and lectures, including to students at Unitec and Auckland University of Technology. I have also taught a workshop-based Interdiciplinary course at Unitec and tutored photography students in their last year of school, who achieved good grades.

I work as an Associate Lecturer on the BA Painting Programme at Camberwell College of Arts (University of the Arts London), as a mentor on the Turps Painting Programme and was invited to be a Visiting Artist at Goldsmiths for 2023, and again for 2024. I am also a Dissertation Supervisor for Final Year students at Camberwell on their BA Programme. Hi! My name is Claudia, I'm a 26 year old artist, illustrator, and mum of one.

I work part time in a secondary school/sixth form as an art technician and a large part of my role is assisting our wonderful students with their projects. I often get allocated 1:1 time with students that are having a harder time than others in some way, and I find this element of the job particularly rewarding.

Prior to that I worked as Head of Art at Didcot Girls` School in Oxfordshire for 9 years, before moving South towards Bristol where I began working as a tutor at the Royal West Academy in Bristol amongst other things. I have now just moved West to the Stroud area and am looking for new students and opportunities to share my passion for painting and all things creative. I have an up to date criminal record (DBS) check and I work as a GCSE Art exam moderator every summer so I`m very familiar with the latest requirements from the exam boards and course curricula. I am also an artist, selling paintings locally through various galleries, a writer and the illustrator of several published books. I`m the author of two books: `Soul Color, a ten week course on watercolour painting to cultivate creativity and mindfulness`, and `Earth Color, an eight week art course for nature connection`. Both are published by Liminal 11 in the UK and Sterling/un ion Square & Co. in the USA & Canada. I have a First Class degree in English and Fine Art from Exeter University.
