Personal Description:
I have 7 years experience working as a Spanish teacher in secondary schools in London including Alleyn's, Lady Margaret School and Kingsdale, teaching years 7 to 13. My exam classes have a very good track record. This year, my year 11 class are predicted 58% grades 9 to 8 and 100% 9 to 6, and my A Level class 63% A*-A and 88% A*-B. I have worked with both Edexcel and AQA in this time, so I know what it takes to get the best grades, especially at GCSE. I am also very happy to work with younger children, helping them to feel more confident with mastering the basics in a language. If your child needs extra support or practice with any particular area, just let me know.
I have made several trips to South America, and have lived in Chile and Spain. I am also a fan of Spanish and Latin American films and literature, so if you would like to incorporate some more cultural aspects into lessons just let me know, as this can be very motivating.
Teaching Experience:
I am PGCE qualified, DBS checked, and have worked as a Spanish teacher for 7 years
Tutoring Approach:
I get on well with children and young people, and would be happy to focus on any area with which they needed extra help. Sessions would be individually tailored and at the student's own pace. If there are any specific texts, exam boards or textbooks with which the pupil is working I would request some advance warning of this.

Personal Description:
I am a confident, diligent and sociable person, with a wide knowledge of world history, and specialising in American and South-East Asian history and culture. I hold a double first class Bachelors degree in History and American Studies from Canterbury Christ Church University, and have had many years experience leading youth projects such as youth councils, young persons' scrutiny forums (YPSF) and have acted as a liasion on several historical and cultural preservation projects such as the Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE) and the Church House Preservation Committee.
Teaching Experience:
I have previous experience as a teaching assistant to KS3 and KS4 level history at a state secondary school.
Tutoring Approach:
I take a holistic approach to the teaching of history, ensuring that the student becomes engaged within a fuller understanding of the period being studied. As a former student and teach of history, I realise that the principal block to a tutee's understanding of historical concepts is a lack of immersion within the relevant time-frames and thus an inability to fully comprehend why certain actions were taken, and the wider effect this had.
Thus in my approach I am firm believer that it is as important for every student to understand to a higher level than that offered by the current state curriculum the context of the period they are studying. As a consequence I offer tailored introductions to said period's culture, economy, religious and political setting, and even physical geography.
Furthermore, I offer the necessary skills to craft this knowledge into well-reasoned, informed essays. My intimate knowledge of the state education system and beyond has imbued me with the ability to gauge how assignments will be assessed and thus I can work with students not only on improving their knowledge, but showcasing this in highly-marked, structured and coherent written forms.
I use a number of methods to achieve this, including homework assignments, but also using character adoption, audio-visual aids and a mixture of written and verbal questions of varying length and form.

Hi, my name is Sophie. I am a graduate of Zoology at the University of Edinburgh University. I spent a year studying abroad in Hong Kong, and have previously spent a year working at IBM. I love to spend my spare time either on the hockey pitch, in the kitchen or doing some art.
Teaching Experience:
Student science tutor for 2 years whilst at school
Summer Camp Leader for 3 years running, experience with international children.
Leader at Cubs, Brownies, Beavers and Rainbows
Work experience at an Adult Learning Centre
Tutoring Approach:
It has been my experience, both as a tutor and as a student, that the best way to engage with learning is to understand your working style. I personally have found certain aspects of school quite challenging but by finding the methods that most suited my needs, I was able to maximize my learning potential.
My tutoring style emphasizes collaboration and positive reinforcement in order to produce a friendly learning environment.
From my charity work abroad in Ghana to my role as Deputy Head Girl at my secondary school, I have gained the interpersonal skills necessary to develop productive and compassionate relationships with pupils. Students will find themselves excited for their lessons and eager to achieve new standards of excellence.

Personal Description:
Hi, my name is Alex and I am a doctor in the NHS based in Cambridge. I graduated from University of Sheffield with a BSc in Biomedical Sciences and went on to study medicine as a graduate at Imperial College London. I completed my foundation training in the Midlands and core training in Cambridge and I am currently applying for medical registrar jobs.
I struggled a lot with MRCP and have developed several tricks and a lot of experience on how to pass the exam.
I know the exam inside out and can tutor you from how to prepare with the time you have available, all the way through to how to prepare on the day and tactics for the exam day itself.
My teaching is online based and interactive and I can answer any questions that you have as we go along.
My teaching is comprehensive and extensive across all 17 subject areas in the part 1 and we can adjust the areas that you would most like to focus on.
Our aim will be to cover the complete course but I can adjust to the areas that you are struggling with most!
Teaching Experience:
I have taught throughout my time as a foundation year doctor, teaching both 1 on 1 and to groups. My teaching experience stretches from; coaching final year students through their final practical exams on the wards during regular twice weekly sessions throughout my F1 year, to setting up a regional teaching program in my F2 year. Here, I taught medical students from Nottingham, Birmingham, Warwick and Leicester University with the emphasis on passing their practical OSCE examinations.
I continued my teaching experience during my core training years by teaching quality improvement methods at both regional and national level.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach is a friendly and engaged approach. I will take responsibility for your understanding and encourage you to ask questions throughout our sessions. My aim is to coach you through the MRCP part 1 and part 2 examinations so as to you reduce your stress levels and improve your chance of a successful sitting.

I now I teach A Level Fine and and A Level Photography, alongside a 19+ (Adult) course in Art and Design, where I teach across a range of specialisms, from Dark Room and Studio Photography, Textiles, Printmaking, 3D Design, Digital Arts, Visual Language and Contextual Studies (Art History), Study Skills and Exhibition Preparation.

Tutoring Approach:
Having diverse experience across a range of ages and subjects, I have developed a broad understanding of the different learning styles students and therefore develop individual learning plans, based on the needs and interests of the students and the requirements of the awarding bodies.
My aim is to build on confidence and deepening knowledge and skills to ensure the student can work independently and to a high standard. I understand that every students skill will be different and aim to build on their current level, to reach their potential.
I am a patient and compassionate teacher, but I also set high expectations and motivate the students to meet the demands of whichever course they may be on. I form excellent working relationships with my students, which is built on mutual resect and trust.
Art has so many amazing benefits; it exposes students to different cultures and challenges their views and understanding of society (including race, gender, politics, economics); by engaging with art, it enables the students to voice opinions and open dialects in a safe environment. I strongly believe that art has the ability to enhance the well-being of anyone practicing it and enjoy engaging students with new and creative techniques to promote this.

Personal Description:
I am currently a graduate student in Psychiatry at the University of Oxford. As a curious and driven learner, I am eager to teach what I have learned, as well as learn from those I teach.
I specialise in teaching Biology, Math and English until GCSE level, and as a fluent speaker of Mandarin I am also able to teach the language to younger students. I am able to teach both GCSE and those working towards the International Baccalaureate (IB). Scored 42 points doing the IB in Singapore myself, having done Higher Level Maths, Chemistry and my favourite- Biology. I was a Triple Science (I)GCSE student, scoring above 90 in all subjects, and tutored 2 IGCSE students myself as a Senior in high school. As a university newspaper editor and columnist, I love to write and communicate science, therefore am inclined towards teaching the sciences and English, but am also open to teach Maths, Chemistry and Mandarin.
Teaching Experience:
I have worked with Oxford Tutors since October 2019, until the pandemic took its stride. I tutored briefly while studying in London for my undergraduate studies (Imperial College London). I tutored math and chinese (mandarin) to younger students during my last two years of high school in Singapore.
Tutoring Approach:
It is both fulfilling and enjoyable to help others realise their potential. During class, I typically first unravel important concepts to ensure the student grasps the topic well, avoiding rote memorisation, before assessments are provided. People describe me as friendly, encouraging and approachable, and I hope this demeanour makes my student feel at ease whilst bringing out his/her own enthusiasm and excitement for the subject. My patience is endless, especially with experience teaching my three younger sisters in Maths and Biology.

Hi I am a qualified primary school teacher. Teaching is my passion and I am here to help students thrive in their learning journeys. I am a mother to a little girl and we love the outdoors, exploring new places. I like travelling to different countries and experiencing the culture, food and history.
Teaching Experience:
I have 8 years of teaching experience in both key stage 1 and 2. Most of my years spent teaching and preparing students for the 11 + and SATS. I use a nurturing and engaging style to my teaching and incorporate the constructivist approach, allowing students to take a more active role in the learning process, encouraging them to use their prior knowledge as a foundation for understanding new concepts.
Tutoring Approach:
My teaching approach is child-centred and I tailor my learning and style to the needs of each child.
