Personal Description:
Native Italian speaker from Sardinia, Italy. A natural linguist with a Ph.d in English language and literature with extended experience teaching both Italian and English. Course developer for Defence Academy of UK from 2014.
Freelance translator with Oxford University Press on Venture 1 and 2 series for the Italian market in 2015. Fluent in Italian (mother tongue) and English. Doctorate in English & foreign languages in 2003. Former tutor for Oxford University Adult Programmes and Oxford Tutorial College. Former section leader for Italian at New College, Swindon - growing the department to over 100 students. Programme Leader for 'Destination Italy' course at Marlborough College from 2009.
Teaching Experience:
I've taught Italian for 23years at all levels, experienced in exam preparation for Gcse and A level. Currently working as private tutor and for Defence Academy in the UK.
My philosophy over my 23 years in teaching is to produce Italian and English lessons that excite and inspire. I have an enthusiastic style and my lessons are delivered using a variety of the latest language learning techniques. I constantly train and update my learning and I am relentless in seeking new and varied materials for reading,listening and writing languages.
Tutoring Approach:
Lessons are individually tailored and will include speaking, listening, reading and writing. Use of variety of textbooks and media resources. I am used in preparing for exams, so grammar becomes important, but I also have conversation classes for holiday language. Lessons are highly prepared and atmosphere is relaxed.
