I live in West Cornwall with my young family, and currently work as a private tutor and academic mentor. Born in Brighton, it was there in 2009 I completed my teacher training and began a career as a science teacher.

I also value a child's input as they are good judges of what they feel they do well and what they may need help with. For GCSE and A-Level tutoring of desired essay structuring and revision strategies can be discussed and learned, as these are often overlooked in schools.

I feel that tutoring outside of school may help improve a child's confidence within a school environment, be this in the work itself or in class discussions and for them as a person. It is not always easy for a child to speak up at school, and if they do not understand this may result in them falling behind. I'm a writer, composer, director and artist, and prizewinning History finalist at the University of Oxford, with experience of a broad range of learning environments and teaching styles, and substantial industry experience in music and the creative arts. Deeply passionate about my subjects, I'm dedicated to each of my students and enthusiastic about sharing the joy of learning with them. My name is Irina but in the artist's world, I am known as an artist Irisha.
I have been drawing and painting professionally for 14 years. I also work with oils. But my private lessons will be concentrated on creating pastel artworks.

A friendly and relaxed approach looking to ensure that you have an understanding of fundamentals and help to create a portfolio or to complete course/school work to a standard that is both professional but also reflects your interests and gives you a folio of work you're really happy with.
