I am a professional actor and director. My work is primarily in the theatre both in the UK and Internationally. I continue my career in the theatre and balance this with my teaching work.

I have a wealth of teaching experience as a professional performer. I have tutored in schools, colleges and also at The Arden School of Theatre in Manchester on the first year acting study course. I was involved in conducting the training camp for the selection of the team that represented Pakistan in the 36th International Physics Olympiad, held in Spain. I was involved in conducting exams, practicals, marking, teaching as well as coordinating tutorials sessions with professors.

Tutoring Approach:
I like to take a practical approach to teaching. I want to give an intuitive feel to the students to help him grasp complex concepts. I do this by giving everyday examples to highlight the subjects under study. I want to
make science fun, cool and intuitive for students and remove the myth and misconceived perception that it is difficult and boring. If the teaching approach is correct, there is no reason why students will not be thrilled by laws and mechanisms of universe.

Post doctoral researcher at University of Sheffield, working to improve mathematical computer models which predict onset of heart disease.

I recently completed a PhD in Bioengineering at Imperial College London, carrying out mathematical research on heart disease. My first degree was in Maths at the same university, and I took a Masters in Biomedical Research in between.

I attended both a state school and a top boarding school and am comfortable to cover topics on and off the standard syllabus.

I am a very fun, friendly person with a wide range of activities and hobbies from inline skating to singing and playing the violin.

Teaching Experience:
I have tutored A-level maths privately for a few years, and also spent several weeks as a teaching assistant in a secondary school during my undergraduate degree as part of the Student Associates Scheme. Many of my contemporaries from university are science and mathematics teachers across England and overseas, and I periodically discuss teaching methods and curriculum changes with them.

During my PhD, I led undergraduate tutorials and problems classes in the Mathematics and several Engineering departments, teaching undergraduates from 1st year to 4th year. In 2019, I graduated from a CELTA course (Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). I initially qualified as a barrister in 1986. I decided to re-qualify as a solicitor in 1990 and have worked as a solicitor ever since, covering many areas of civil and criminal law. More recently, I have specialised in criminal law. After obtaining a 2:1 Llb degree in 1985, I finished in the top 10th percentile in the Bar Exams in 1986. I retired in 2021.

I prefer to tailor my methods according to the needs of the individual student. Some students require more leadership than others. It is important that the student feels engaged in the learning process since it is the student who will have to go on in between tutorials to study the subject. It is important to encourage the student toward better work and methods of working.
I encourage students to discuss with me their difficulties in grasping a particular area of law. It is very satisfying to see a student begin to thrive in an area of law which initially seemed intimidatingly difficult.
It is always important to apply the law one has learnt to a variety of potential situations in order fully to understand how the law works in practice. Equally, such exercises are the biggest mark-earners in the exams. Learning to present an argument in a logical, easy-to-follow fashion is very important.

My formal education is obtaining China's 'National Teacher Certification' in 2018, specialising in teaching Junior Secondary School students.

My career has seen me teaching English in schools in China for over five years, with an additional five years experience of being a private Mandarin tutor in UK. Including online classroom teaching experience for British private schools.

The usual age of my students are from 3 to 16 years old, however I have good experience working with adults.
