All students receive a free consultation. This gives the student the opportunity to assess me. It also allows me to assess the student's level of ability, confidence, enthusiasm, commitment and learning style.

I have a two postgraduate qualifications in Orthopaedic Engineering and in Materials Enginnering. I have a degree in Biomedical Materials Science. I am a keen researcher in this field. I have worked as a science teacher and a department Supervisor at a London tuition center. I have taught GCSE Science , Maths and A Level Chemistry to number of students as a home tutor in the past seven years. Most of them have achieved excellent results.

My name is Margaret! I am a Software Engineer, and have recently graduated with a first class honours in MEng Software Engineering. My degree also included a placement in a locally-based software engineering company, and now I work full time as a software engineer in Belfast.
I have previously completed a HND in Computing and Systems Development with distinctions in every module, and achieved A* grades in GCSE and A level ICT, using technologies such Microsoft Access, Netbeans and Visual Studio. I have experience developing in a number of programming languages, including Go, TypeScript, Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and SQL. I am also an ISTQB certified tester with a Foundation Level (CTFL) qualification. I have experience with both coursework and theoretical aspects of these courses and would be more than happy to help!

-As a high-performing student at Queen's University Belfast, I have been employed as an academic demonstrator. This involved supporting students during practical sessions and answers questions via email.

Tutoring Approach:
This depends on whether the student needs support with the practical (coursework) side or the theory. With the theory, I often look through past papers with the student to establish common questions and work to get the most succinct and correct answer. With practical problems I would often set a smaller, simpler challenge related to the problem which can help the student understand, and then apply to their own coursework. I aim to make the students complete the challenges themselves as much as possible - it is not my intention to create solutions for coursework/assignments for students to use as their own. All work is done as a collaboration between myself and the student.

Please note that I cannot assist University students with the creation of their final year projects.

After studying a Masters degree in Mathematics at Durham University, I worked in London in High Net Worth Tax for a big four firm and my current role is within University admissions. I received A* and A grades for all modules in my high school and maintained these grades at A-level.

My own personal experience of learning means that I can relate easily to the challenges and work load that 11+/GCSE/A-level/Degree students face. This enables me to teach students at a level which they understand encompassing set goals and targets to ensure success. I have tutored a number of students, in both long-term and concentrated exam revision situations. I have experience of tutoring a wide range of curriculum levels, namely from 11+ to A level Mathematics/Further Mathematics.

I have experience in teaching a variety of syllabuses including 11+ National Curriculum, AQA GCSE, Edexcel GCSE and Edexcel International GCSE and various entry level examinations. Recent GCSE results saw students progress from grading Level 4's to Level 7's and 8's - on average up to 4 grades improvement and an average of 220% increase in marks within the year.

I have found that each individual requires a tailored approach to their learning. I consequently adapt my teaching style to reflect their learning style and introduce techniques that enable them to understand the subject at both basic and higher levels in order to create successful results.
