My name is Jamie. I'm a maths graduate from the University of Bath (MMath). I was a Maths Teacher and Key Stage 5 Coordinator at a well-known and very successful secondary school and sixth form in Bath.

I have been a Maths tutor on and off since I was in sixth form and have over 10 years' experience across a variety of ages and abilities (as well as 5 years' experience as a teacher). I'm fortunate that I discovered my passion for teaching and tutoring at a relatively young age, and I have already been able to guide many students at primary, secondary and sixth form level towards their goals.

I have now chosen to become a tutor full-time. It is incredibly rewarding to continue sharing my knowledge and insights with any students who wish to learn. If I can pass on just a little bit of my infectious enthusiasm for the subject at the same time, then all the better!

In total, I have over 10 years of experience tutoring. This would have started when I was in sixth form studying for my A-levels, then continuing on and off through my time at University and during my career as a teacher. I also have 5 years' experience as a teacher, and in my last year I was appointed Key Stage 5 Maths Coordinator for my school, giving me responsibility for all of our A-level students. I believe a simple approach to tutoring is the best one. I aim to work closely with my tutees to identify their goals, and create a plan of action to follow to give them the very best chance of success. Hello! My name is Bea and I am 21 years old. I have just finished a degree in Biomedical Science at the University of Sheffield and am about to begin Graduate Medicine at the University of East Anglia. I strongly believe that education is an ongoing journey to discover what you feel passionate about.

Throughout school I performed well in exams, achieving 10 grade 9s at GCSE and 3 A*s at A level, as well as graduating with a first in my degree. Throughout school I was a mentor for my subjects to people in the years below and I found this very rewarding. We taught lots of new skills, such as baking, sports and crafts, as well as helping in standard teaching such as spelling and everyday mathematics.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring will depend entirely on your/ your child's needs. Learning exam technique is the key to improving grades, but there are many different ways to learn depending on what suits you best. Active recall is an important part of learning and consolidation, to ensure the content is properly embedded so there will be lots of engagement and questions in my sessions to check everything is being understood.
