Teaching Experience:
I have taught for over 20 years around the world teaching IT and related subjects for companies such as Learning Tree, Peritas and IBM. I was one of the first qualified network engineers in the UK.

In 2006 I took and passed the Cambridge University CELTA course and exams and now teach English as a foreign language either one to one or to small groups ranging in age from 14 to adult both in the UK and in schools across Europe.

Tutoring Approach:
With English the aim is to provide a personal conversation led approach to learning supported by written exercises to confirm the rules. Depending on the numbers involved the approach is practical and involves music, role playing, presentations, reading and writing skills. All training is geared to the needs of the individual and there is no set approach.

Language teaching can be more effective in groups and the cost for 2-4 students is 25 per hour. Please ask about larger group sizes.

My Name is Rachel and I have finished my final year at the University of Glasgow, where I studied a Bachelor of Music with Honours. I am a very positive, hardworking person. I am a singer and also have many years of experience working with the Kodaly method of music education. I have achieved ABRSM Grade 5 Theory, The National Youth Choir of Scotland's Go For Gold Certificate (which is accredited to Grade 5 Theory) and have also achieved Grade 8 in Voice and Grade 7 in Oboe through the ABRSM.
