I have been successfully teaching in the Primary sector for over 25 years and have experience across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and 2. I resigned from my most recent full time post as Headteacher of a primary school, to return to my first love of teaching and now tutor children alongside working part time as a teacher.

Tutoring Approach:
Since I qualified as a teacher in 1996, I have tutored primary aged children in Reading, Writing and Maths. I have also supported many children through Y6 Sats and with the transition to secondary school.

I offer both face to face and online tuition via Zoom.

I offer small group sessions to children of a similar age and/or ability and offer a discount for siblings.

I am DBS checked.

Before I begin tutoring, I assess the child's needs and talk to them and their parents about the support that they would like. I aim to make my sessions as interesting and creative as possible to engage the children and ensure effective learning. The session is spent primarily with me teaching or working through a problem with a child-there's little benefit in a child working through a task independently with me sitting watching!

As a mother, a Primary School Teacher and an experienced tutor, I understand how difficult it can be to support your own child in their learning. I will therefore also support with school homework and extra reading when required.

I have been teaching since 2001, initially primary and secondary aged students. This was performance based tutoring at weekend classes including some one to one sessions. Half French/half Scottish, I was born and brought up in France to Scottish parents. I am now based in London, but Paris is still home for me. Studying French and Spanish at University College London gave me the incredible opportunity to live in Madrid for a year, where I became fluent in Spanish. I then went on to train as an actor at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Acting and tutoring aside, I am an avid theatre-goer, film buff, food-lover and I love travelling, whenever the opportunity arises.

I am a researcher at Kings College London. I do research on biology, genetics and neuroscience. İ am a graduate of veterinary medicine and worked as a veterinary surgeon for three years before moving to research. I have been teaching languages in the UK for the past 25 years and pride myself in helping my students achieve their dream of studying Russian at Oxbridge and other Russel group universities. I am a highly motivated and capable mathematics graduate of the University of Cambridge and the University of Warwick working full-time as a maths tutor, teaching mostly A/AS Level, STEP, and MAT with some GCSE. I get along well with students using a friendly enthusiastic manner and patient guidance, allowing me to engage them in a subject that many (sadly) find difficult or tedious to deal with. I've had significant success helping students to see why this subject is exciting and beautiful as well as extremely useful. Passing a maths exam can be stressful and overwhelming at times. With my help a student can learn not just all the material they need, but also efficient, reliable and (most importantly) intuitive approaches to thinking about the topics/problems. Students often cite both my enthusiasm and clarity as having really benefited them. I really genuinely enjoy sharing the passion I have for maths with others, I have the best job in the world!

Additionally, if a student is looking to really excel to the highest level I also have extensive experience here. I have helped many students through challenging entrance exams, provided wider mathematical enrichments (e.g. mathematical history, computing theory, learning mathematics from around the world etc.), and even taught several child prodigies taking exams or going to university early. I'm very knowledgeable about a huge variety of advanced areas of mathematics, and will be able to have proper discussions far beyond the syllabus when children ask the deep philosophical questions that curious minds wonder about. I can put all of this into a broad mathematical context and get into proper depth about how mathematicians think and the meaning(s) of ideas, and the rich world of mathematics beyond rote memorisation at school.
