I have been a full-time tutor since 2004 and I cater for all levels, working with both young people and adults to improve their French. I also tutor Maths.

Teaching Experience:
Many of my students are adults learning French for pleasure or business. I help students preparing for their GCSE and A Level. I also run classes for home-educated children, including children with dyslexia or on the autistic spectrum.

My name is Marese, I'm a CELTA qualified English Language Teacher and I live in Glasgow, Scotland. Hi, I'm Alan. I offer Mathematics lessons online and in person in the Newport (South Wales) and surrounding areas.
I am extremely patient, especially with the pupils requiring extra support. I aim to provide all my tutees with the confidence and the understanding which is necessary for success in the subject. I also undertake examination work which I have done for many years. I am a friendly and approachable tutor with extensive experience in academia, both as a graduate teacher and a student (I'm currently a PhD Psychology student). Having completed my GCSEs, A-levels, a BSci in Psychology, an MSci in Psychological Research, and currently pursuing a PhD in Perceptual Psychology, I understand the challenges students face. I know what it is like to miss something or not quite grasp a concept as explained by a lecturer. I define myself as an introvert, enthusiastic about my subjects and organised. As a teacher, I prioritise relationship building and getting to know the students in front of me, the ones I teach.

I have extensive experience in teaching, starting from 2018 when I first worked as an after school activity leader for a STEM business. I delivered these sessions mainly to primary school children year 5,6.
Further down the line I worked as a cover supervisor for a few years when I interacted with a range of different age groups ranging from 12 all the way to 18 year olds. I worked in all through SEN school before having also gained some experience with SEND children and young teenagers.
Furthermore in more recent years I worked with a summer school as a Business tutor where I taught international students Business concepts and applying these to a live Dragon's Den type of project. Lots to skills picked up here such as knowing how to interract with students that don't have English as their first language as well as bringing to the lessons a variety of brands that students can familiarise themselves with in the UK - for students who may wish to study in the UK, in future.

ever since starting tutoring my aim has always been to cater to the needs of the tutee.
i.e. I have tutored Spanish A level in the past so the aim here was to improve at grammar skills, therefore the focus of the tutoring sessions would mostly be on exam preparation questions, topics that may come up and then 15-2o mins of the session would focus on other areas such as speaking, listening, reading, writing.
I always offer the tutee to travel to them so it is all done in their own comfort.
As a person I am good at picking up on areas for development and find creative ways to bridge the gaps. I am very informal as a tutor and relaxed, flexible.
