I have been tutoring privately for over 25 years and my particular strengths are preparing students for examinations. I find pupils soon feel more confident about their own ability and realise that Mathematics is not as difficult as they once thought.
Examination technique and consolidation of past exam questions is a skill in itself and often learners need extra guidance on this which I enjoy providing.
As a am a full time teacher I am fully aware of the main syllabuses within the UK and what is expected of the pupils and I have access to all the necessary resources. I always provide students with all the materials that they need for the lesson and plenty of homework.
I thrive on offering face to face one to one tuition and can come out to the student or vice versa they can come to me.

I graduated from Durham University with an MA Education and I have Qualified Teacher Status specialised in Chinese teaching. My Bachelor degree was 'Chinese Literature'. I have a recent CRB check, Mandarin teaching experience at both private and state schools in London and East Sussex. I also have experiences of private tuition (age 8 months to 23 years old, from complete beginner to university level) and real passion for this career.

I have been teaching at a private school in London for almost 10 years. Prior to that, I taught at a prestigious private school in Sussex for three years. In the past few years, I have also been working as an A-Level Mandarin examiner. I am a philosophy student at Roehampton University. I am from the South Downs in Hampshire, where I lived until I was 18. I have been studying here in London since September 2017. Back home I am the oldest of four, and this had enabled me to be able to understand how to make learning fun for a wide range of ages, as our ages vary from 8 to 20 years. My hobbies include playing football, listening to music, and reading. I was previously employed as an after school nanny so have a DBS check that is valid.

Working as a nanny I had to help the boys I looked after with their homework. They were 6 and 8 so was helping them learn very basic skills.

I studied Japanese at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies and got my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Japan. Having spent 7 years living in Japan, I have level 1 (N1) of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).  I also have skills in traditional Japanese arts, such as tea ceremony and calligraphy. I want to share my passion for the Japanese language with everybody, from complete beginners to students going to Japan in the near future.
