I have been a full-time tutor since 2004 and I cater for all levels, working with both young people and adults to improve their French. I also tutor Maths and Computing.

Teaching Experience:
Many of my students are adults learning French for pleasure or business. I help students preparing for their GCSE and A Level. I also run classes for home-educated children, including children with dyslexia or on the autistic spectrum.

Tutoring Approach:
I tailor lessons to meet the individual needs of my students with a gentle and creative approach. I use a variety of "active-learning" approaches.

I love instilling my love of learning into my pupils and I always get results in a relaxed, enjoyable and rewarding way. Students progress rapidly as most of the sessions are spent talking in French, even with beginners. The objective is to make you feel confident in French. Tutoring Approach:
The best tutors in my life have been the strictest ones, with high demands and set standards. I have learned from them well and would aim for the same level of aspiration they have given me. I am currently in my 3rd year of studying for my BA in Journalism & Creative Writing, I am happy and capable of tutoring up to A Level English Language. I am a friendly and approachable person, with experience volunteering in schools around sensitive subjects.

Teaching Experience:

In the last 30 years in France and in the UK, I have taught to tens of students. My favorite task is to take students struggling with French or Math and to bring them up to the 80%-100% range. I have taught French as a foreign language to English students for the last 20 years. I have created audiovisual lessons taking in account similarities and differences between French and English to improve and speed up the learning. My method works as well for beginners with no French at all.

My aim is to make my students confident and independent in their studies.

During the introduction, I meet the student and their guardian so that we can get to know each other. I learn about their needs and aims, and we start planning the lessons.

The plan typically consists of weekly or fortnightly lessons depending on the content the student needs to cover; some students need to focus only on specific topics, while others need support throughout the year.

During the lessons, I focus both on supporting the students with the new material they have to learn and on filling the gaps they might have in order to build a solid foundation. To do that, I use worksheets that are focused on a specific topic and past exam papers that can help students prepare for tests and exams.

I organise my lessons so that the students can think of how to solve exercises while I guide them to the solution, rather than tell them what to do step by step. That way, they develop their own method to understand and study Maths and boost their confidence.

As to my Italian lessons, I base them on practice so that the students can gain more confidence, especially with listening and speaking, while strengthening their basic grammar knowledge. During the lesson, I like to create conversations aimed at practising oral comprehension and production.

I am a full time Maths teacher at secondary school with a Mathematics BSc Degree. I really enjoy maths (yes this is a cliche), but I love the problem solving aspect of it and the fact there is a right or wrong answer. I always look to simplify problems and am only happy if I fully understand it. I am currently KS4 coordinator at my school and thoroughly enjoy my work and do not see myself doing any other profession.

Teaching Experience:
10 years at a secondary school teaching GCSE Foundation and Higher.
I also teach Maths A-Level (all) and Further Maths A-Level (Core Pure 1 and 2 and Further Mechanics 1). I used to teach the old spec Decision Maths 1 and 2, so am also to help with these too. I am a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu/MMA instructor offering 1-2-1 sessions to anyone looking to learn a combat skill for self defense, to improve their overall fitness or to just simply have fun.

I have trained Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA for over 5 years and have currently train and spar with UFC and Bellator fighters aswell as the UK's Top mma fighters. I have also competed in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for over 5 years and have amassed over 18 Gold medals internationally.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a Martial art and combat sport heavily focusing on the Grappling aspects of fighting, such as takedown, joint locks, chokes and positional dominance. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is one of the largest aspects of MMA and can be seen being utilised at the highest levels of UFC. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was originally derived from Judo and developed later in Brazil as a self defense martial art focusing on ground Grappling. To this day Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a very effective self defense martial art.

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu/MMA for 3 years which includes teaching adult classes and kids classes. I focus on teaching 1-2-1 sessions.

Tutoring Approach:
I teach my students elite Combat skills designed to neutralise a possible threat while taking minimal damage and the least risk of injury.

My classes start off with a warm up to get the blood flowing. The warmup consists of exercises that are designed to stimulate and strengthen the muscles that are primarily used in the martial art. After the warm up, I focus heavy on the technical aspects of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA in which I teach the students physically how to implement the techniques and also verbally explain to them. My class end with some strength and conditioning exercises which are intended to improved the strength and endurance of the students.
