Personal Description:
I am a professional photographer and photography educator with over twenty years of experience working across fashion, beauty, still life and commercial photography in London and Paris. I recently closed my studio in Paris after twenty years as a food photographer. My early career training included assisting renowned photographers such as Helmut Newton, Richard Avedon, Sarah Moon and Terry O,Neil.
Teaching Experience:
Alongside my professional practice, I have taught, mentored and supported students at various stages of their development, including lecturing at photography schools, sitting on examination boards, and providing structured studio-based training. I further deepened my academic and pedagogical practice through completing an MA 'History of Photography with Curating' at Birkbeck in 2024, alongside an AET qualification.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach emphasises high expectations, technical accuracy and critical thinking, while encouraging students to develop creative independence and confidence. I use formative assessment and constructive feedback to support progress over time, and I am confident using Photoshop, Capture One and online learning platforms to support learning and assessment.
