Teaching Experience:
I am an experienced teacher with a PGCE, who has taught privately one to one for a number of years. I have primarily taught English on a one to one basis for tutees who are preparing for their GCSE and "A" level examinations, but I am also experienced in helping tutees improve their literacy skills from a young age. I also have experience of teaching English as a Foreign language on a one to one basis. I have taught in a number of language schools over the years, and at one point started a language school in southern Italy. I have considerable experience teaching English up to "A" level standard in secondary education, and I have over fifteen years experience to draw upon.

Tutoring Approach:
One to one teaching, by its nature, is very intense, so it is very important to introduce variety as much as possible. A mixture of written work, as well as oral work, if required is essential to keep the tutee focused and interested in what you are teaching. It helps, sometimes, after an intense session, fot the tutee to have a short break, before continuing.

I work in Research & Innovation at the University of Surrey where I help academics (Lecturers and PhD students) make a positive difference with their research, such as build start-up businesses. Previously, I was a Research Fellow designing spacecraft structures having finished my PhD Mechanical Engineering. In Malaga, Spain there is a shortage of learning opportunities and availability of English tutors. I have enjoyed a varied career in law and criminal justice, and have over five years of experience in tutoring.
