I am a passionate linguist and teacher of Modern Languages.

Teaching Experience:
I am a highly qualified and experienced teacher of Modern Languages, able to teach Spanish, German and French. I have vast experience of teaching all three languages (Spanish, German and French) from Primary through to GCSE, and German through to A level and beyond. I am confident in teaching students of all abilities and in recent years have taught students who have progressed to study languages at Oxford and Cambridge. I am an experienced examiner for AQA and I have examined the GCSE German writing component for the last 6 years. I am also able to offer language tuition for adults and businesses.

Tutoring Approach:
I have a strong understanding of the GCSE and A-level courses which enables me to coach the students in a way for them to achieve their full potential at all levels.

I have been tutoring students across London in all aspects of Computing since 2015. Having a PhD and a 1st Class Degree in Computer Science from Sheffield University, I have a great deal of experience in everything from general programming to academic research. I worked for a decade as an academic at both Sheffield and Surrey Universities. I have helped many students through their studies at GCSE and A-level, teaching AQA, OCR and CIE syllabuses. I am also happy to teach adult learners who are looking to expand their skillset.

For A-level and GCSE students it is worth beginning tuition as soon as possible, not just in the weeks running up to exams (although this can still help). This is particularly important for Computer Science because students should be learning a programming language in parallel with their studies. Some exam boards require a programming project as coursework, and it is important that this is completed as soon as possible to leave room for exam preparation.

I am happy to help degree students with theory and learning programming, but enquiries asking for help with an assignment for hand in next week are unlikely to be followed up.

Teaching Experience:
I have taught seminars, graded coursework, helped design courses at degree level, and have also tutored students to PhD level.

I have been teaching students online mostly since the beginning of the pandemic. Many students are used to this type of teaching now, and the tools available have made it much more viable. Whilst teaching in person is, in my opinion, superior, the convenience of audio/video calls and the ability to reach more students from more varied backgrounds has been invaluable.

I believe that learning only happens by doing. Tailoring a course to the students individual requirements and the pace at which they can work.

I live in South Wales with my daughter and our pet cat. Besides study and work, I enjoy walking, keeping fit and photography. I have also recently volunteered at a local primary school working on numeracy/literacy interventions and I recently worked part time at in the Learning Support department of a local Comprehensive school. I have worked in local primary schools and high schools assisting with activities, such as numeracy and reading, as well as assisting with detailed individual learning plans and support. I tailor tuition to suit the needs of the individual student as each student learns differently and will better attain desired goals via their own learning style. I structure full lessons, sometimes with presentations, as well as exam practice papers with questions, and I will set homework, if deemed appropriate.

I am a friendly and enthusiastic primary school teacher from Yorkshire and a Modern Foreign Languages graduate from the University of Edinburgh. I have experience teaching primary subjects in the UK, both in schools and as a private tutor, as well as teaching EFL in France and Spain.

I offer online primary tuition to support children with their schoolwork, homework and wider learning. Private tuition provides the opportunity to focus on each pupil as an individual, allowing lessons to be tailored to their particular needs, interests and areas for development. I began teaching group lessons in school. After leaving school, I began training for the classroom, but I did not feel I could impact the individual in such a large group environment. While maintaining strong links with school curriculum, I began to pursue my career in individual instruction. My home based tuition serves approximately sixty five pupils at a time and my online lessons support many more, depending on the time zone. I have taught students in Australia, the Middle East, France, Russia and a variety of locations around the British Isles. With such a large cohort of students I offer a variety of syllabuses and qualifications. These are embarked upon at the student's request. Lessons are Student-Centred, so the Teaching Method fits the Student.

I started teaching in 1993 and have been offering a pupil centred approach to happy and successful students ever since. I teach classically, although not necessarily Classical. Whatever your style, you will learn how music works. This helps you to develop your musical skills.

I have had tutoring experiencing in the UK for over a year now in French, English, Mathematics, and Science.

I recently volunteered at children's orphanage in Africa where, among other things, I taught the Ethiopian children English. Doing so taught me the effectiveness and importance of patience and empathy when tutoring, as well as giving the pupil time to think through things in their own way.

I'm a second year biomedical science student. I took my A-Levels in Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics in 2019 and GCSEs in 2017 and having recently done these exams, I know just how challenging they are.

Being a student myself and having the experience of currently tutoring students who are doing their GCSEs and A-Levels, I know the methods that work best to help your child understand the content they need to know. I understand the way young people learn very well and the ways I teach reflect this - with an extensive focus on understanding (not memorising) and application to real-world contexts so your child can appreciate the reason behind learning what they learn. Very approachable, calm and patient. Having a young son myself, I understand the challenges of educating different individuals and needing to adapt the style to suit the learner. I spent a number of years living in Bahrain, and as such am very used to working within a multicultural environment.

I have spent the past 20 years of my career working in the Pharmaceutical industry leading a team of chemists in the development of analytical methods to support new therapeutic treatments. I also worked within the external training team as a tutor to deliver training sessions within my specialism, training many delegates from other companies, which spanned a very large age range. Additionally, I wrote a number of articles and White papers on several key areas of chemical analysis within the Pharma industry, as well as providing support to business marketing.

As a person I am methodical, tenacious and have an eye for detail.

As eluded to above, I am acutely aware of the different styles needed to suit different individuals. Therefore I avoid a 'one size fits all' approach, ensuring that I adapt to suit each individual. I am a full time Maths teacher at secondary school with a Mathematics BSc Degree. I really enjoy maths (yes this is a cliche), but I love the problem solving aspect of it and the fact there is a right or wrong answer. I always look to simplify problems and am only happy if I fully understand it. I am currently KS4 coordinator at my school and thoroughly enjoy my work and do not see myself doing any other profession.

Teaching Experience:
10 years at a secondary school teaching GCSE Foundation and Higher.
I also teach Maths A-Level (all) and Further Maths A-Level (Core Pure 1 and 2 and Further Mechanics 1). I used to teach the old spec Decision Maths 1 and 2, so am also to help with these too. I am also familiar with Further Pure 1, Further Statistics 1 and Further Mechanics 2 but do ask if you want to go through this, please give me 3 days notice to brush up on this as some of the chapters in these books I have not covered for a while as they are new to the A Level course. Other Chapters I am completely fine with.

I prefer a bespoke experience using mini whiteboards where I can tailor the questions to the pupils misconceptions and questions. All I ask is that the day before the session, you let me know what topics you would like to go through.
