The book although used, was in amazing condition, no marks, no notes or highlighting visible. But you can tell it has been used.I like the CGP books because they make excellent revision aids, although they don't teach you the topic from scratch (after all that's what your teaches and course textbooks are for), they are great for refreshing your memory before tests and to ensure you know those key points before an exam. And the facts it isn't all black and white text is a bonus.

Anyone doing A level biology will know that half the battle is knowing what to learn, if you get bogged down in detail you quite simply will never learn everything you need for the exam. I had a very poor teacher and resided to teaching myself using this book. It doesn't have loads of explanation or detail, but it does have the facts. Laid bare. If you want detail and lots of explanation to help understanding then use your text book. If you want an exceptionally well matched book, that gives the facts and is clear and easy to understand you wont go far wrong!

Many of the pages missing and 30 or more covered in scribbles and defaced which was not mentioned in description.

Covers all the bases for the specification, but lacks a little in some of the more complicated stuff like Oxygen association. Having said this, it is designed as a summary book, so class notes should be used as well. Would be nice if there were some photos of cell structures and the like.
