Diana - Uckfield tutor

Information About Diana:

Personal Description:

I'm a maths tutor with many years experience teaching secondary students at GCSE and A-Level. I teach students both face-to-face from my home in Uckfield or online. Spaces fill fast so get in touch to discuss how I can help you or your child.

Teaching Experience:

I started tutoring many years ago. Knowing I had just got two As (no A*s in those days!) in my maths and further maths A-levels, a friend asked if I could help her with her studies. Of course I said yes, thinking I could earn a little extra cash for my planned travels. But what I gained from the experience was way more than that.
As soon as I started teaching her I realised how much joy I got from helping her understand.
Maths had always come easily to me, but not too easily. There were times when I had to really puzzle to figure things out for myself and I gained huge satisfaction when I got there. I now gain that same pleasure helping others to similar lightbulb moments.
I have tutored many different students over the years. I mostly teach secondary age students studying towards GCSE and A-level. However, I have also taught adults working towards their Functional Skills.

Tutoring Approach:

I firmly believe in building long term confidence and understanding. I incorporate a mixture of learning styles into my teaching and have experience adapting to students with many different diagnoses. I treat each one as an individual and work together with them to tailor lessons that are both productive and enjoyable, or as much so as extra maths can be!
