purchased all three in the series for Home Educated 10 year old who loves Science. He loves the books and uses them alongside the study guides. we also purchased the separate answer book which covers all three subject workbooks Biology, physics, chemistry and is very cheap so worth the purchase to ensure your on the right track.

A good reference book

I am a trainee science teacher, and I bought these books to work through myself to experience first hand the level of knowledge required at Key Stage 3, and they proved very useful. They are definitely worth buying if you want to help your child with revision, as not all schools provide workbooks. If (as a parent) your science knowledge is a bit rusty, you'll need the answer booklet so you can mark your child's work. I understand the frustration for those who have bought this expecting the answers to be at the back - but I can see good reasons not to have the answers. Some students will just cheat and look up the answers. It's a shame that those students who would use the book responsibly lose out by not being able to check their answers, but the fact remains that from a school point of view having the answers would be detrimental, if they're setting these tasks as independent study.Overall a good workbook, that will help improve grades if used correctly.
