My current area of research is the use of improvisation in creative animated practice and I like to explore this practically as well as using written documentation. I am adept at academic writing and I also enjoy blogging as a form of expression and as a way of recording and cataloguing my own creative practice. I am interested in ecology and global politics and I enjoy painting in my spare time.
Teaching Experience:
I was employed as a lecturer in Interactive Media at City College from Jan 2006-2011 and also worked for BBC Voices during that time. I started my teaching life as a mentor for the East Gallery (at the Art School) in the second year of my degree and eventually started getting paid for it a year later. I continued to act as a mentor for the art school while they were still operating the scheme. I have given various practical workshops and classes for various groups mostly centred on animation and drawing. I have experience in teaching most mainstream art/media software including:
Photoshop
Illustrator
Quark
Premiere
Final Cut (Pro and Express)
DVD Studio Pro
AfterFX

Audacity
Audition
Subjects that I lectured include:

I do not teach 3D animation (Maya, 3D Studio Max etc) or web design.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach is fairly laid-back as I am used to teaching adults/older teenagers. I usually set students a series of practical exercises in order to facilitate learning. I specialise in new technology tutoring.
For university level students I can offer tutoring in my subject specialisms and also help with academic writing in general.
