I work as a practicing artist, lecturer and illustrator I feel extremely lucky have been able throughout my working life to combine two of my favourite things, art & nature.

My award winning work has sold widely across the UK and in the USA. Careful study, thoughtful composition, and atmosphere are the key elements that go into my personal work.

I have been an external examiner for several programmes and I am currently a certfied moderator for Access to HE Art, Design & Media Diplomas through Ascentis.

Teaching Experience:
dI have over 25 years experience teaching degree level, HND and ND levels of illustration, drawing and illustration industrial placement. More recently I have collaborated to design workshops and short courses in art and illustration, working with organisations and individuals. My private 1:1 tutoring often involves preparing students for 'A' Level, college and university or building portfolios for further education.

Many of my university students have gone on to be leading professionals in the creative industries, but you may wish to have lessons to improve your technique of a media or drawing application, as a leisure painter.

Tutoring Approach:
My background is in natural history illustration and wildlife art, working in a variety of media including; watercolour, acrylics, graphite and oils. However I can plan engaging lessons that will help you develop an understanding and skills to convey tone, form colour and light for whatever subject you are interested in.

Through patience, understanding, and working together I will help you achieve your artistic goals. I create wildlife art in a variety of media but teach across a wide range of subject areas in art & design from landscapes to still life.

I have a special interest in teaching the principles of observational drawing, covering skills that can be applied to all visual mediums in art.

I am a professional artist and Art Tutor/Coach/Mentor. A graduate of The Royal College of Art in 1999 with an MA in Painting, with solo and group exhibitions including The National Portrait Gallery and The Royal Academy of Arts, London. I teach, tutor, and mentor young people and adults, and I organize and deliver tailor-made art programmes supporting communication and wellbeing for individual's and group's development.

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching and mentoring young people and adults, all levels up to Master degree since 1994. My deep knowledge of the arts and extensive experience, has produced a simple and comprehensive system, which inspires a student to follow and achieve their highest potential fast. Very effective and resourceful teaching at meeting deadlines, creating portfolios, improvising last-minute interventions, preparing for exhibitions and art competitions, et al.

Since 2007 and in parallel to my private teaching, I have been working with various organizations, as a Tutor/Mentor and an Education Advisor, on one to one basis and in groups, organizing and delivering tailor-made art programmes for individuals and groups of vulnerable people: young people with complex needs such as physical or learning disabilities and/or with behavioural challenges, in collaboration with their families or carers, people experiencing addictions and/or mental health distress, et al.

I have developed a simple and clear system ensuring fast personal achievements in drawing and painting. Additionally, I use a variety of techniques in personal and group development workshops, such as sketches, active listening, role-play, motivational phrases, body movements, group resolving exercises, et al.

Art and design has been the love of my life since early childhood. Being able to express oneself creatively and with imagination has always been my primary source of independence and happiness. Apart from that, i am also attentive to creative sparks and fires in the people around me, enjoying when the potential is given the chance to be fulfilled. Plus, i am thoughtful and hard working, with a light-hearted and empathic attitude towards people i work with. I am a bit of a connector, a bit of a maven, a bit of a geek and i always wear a sunscreen. I have studied Art and Design in Latvia and in London, have an Interior Design diploma and a degree in Product Design, strong drawing skills, sane knowledge of a range of arts materials, software skills and a spirit for safe experiments.

Tutoring Approach:
The best tutors in my life have been the strictest ones, with high demands and set standards. I have learned from them well and would aim for the same level of aspiration they have given me. But in addition, my strongest belief is that the best teacher is the one who understands the way his student works and learns and acts accordingly, being an inspirational teacher. I have a PGCE in Secondary Art and Design, and have 8 years experience of working in education. I also have a degree in Theatre Design. I worked as a Visual Merchandiser for a couple of years after graduating, and then made the move into teaching.
I now work in pastoral roles within secondary schools - but actively keep up to date with the Art GCSE and A Level specs.

Teaching Experience:
I have worked as a Secondary Art teacher up to head of department level in London. Since moving up to Yorkshire 3 years ago I have worked in pastoral roles within 2 different schools, looking after years 7 and 8 and now 6th form.

Tutoring Approach:
Tutoring is not just filling in the gaps. I believe a Tutor should be a person of support through the difficult exam times, as well as a teacher. I work with young people to find out what their artistic style is and then help them use that to achieve their best possible result.

I have a University degree in Film Studies with Film Production and I enjoy making films in my spare time. I have had one of my short films shown at the BFI cinema in London as well as in Fact in Liverpool City Centre.

I have taught small subject groups at both Alevel and University degree level. The peers that I tutored got high grades within their work and strive to learn more and do better.

Tutoring Approach:
I like to open a project with multiple solutions or approaches and discuss which is the option that stands out most. Then develop and evolve this choice into a more substantial solution. I find that using visual aids, such as power points really help, as well as using video examples where necessary. I believe that engaging open discussions about the subject at hand also helps flesh out more opinions or even conserns that an individual may have.

Hello, I'm Shannon and I'm in my third year of studying an illustration degree, soon to graduate. In my own work I'm experimental with a variety of art methods so I believe I have relevant skills to help young people with basic art skills. Such as, drawing techniques with the use of different mediums, digital drawing techniques (photoshop), making gifs, story boarding ect. Skills like this are useful to know if you or your child are thinking about college/university.

I have worked as a primary school teacher for 9 years, a part-time private tutor as well as spending time working as a Governess/nanny in Russia. I am a highly enthusiastic, caring and driven teacher with a wide range of experience teaching within the Early Years and Key Stage 1, following the English National Curriculum and Development Matters EYFS framework. I am passionate about creativity and am an artist and ceramicist, I also work freelance as a printmaker's assistant so I have a wide range of skills. I have worked for many years as an art educator, I am an A level moderator for an exam board which allows me to see work from around the country and enhances my professional development. I have also worked for a charity providing art programmes for those living with mental health challenges and this is an area I have really enjoyed.

I have been an Art and Design teacher for many years working with young people from primary and secondary school age along with lecturing at FE level. I have experience working in a wide range of materials and encourage critical thinking and independent research skills. I am able to work with those who wish to use art for wellbeing alongside tutoring those working towards formal examinations; GCSE/A level/BTec. I have also worked with adults living with mental health charities and provided art workshops in the local community. I have a MA in Production Design for Film and Television from Kingston University and a BA Hons in Furniture Design and Applied Arts from Edinburgh College of Art. I have worked in the film and television industry since 2004. I lead large teams of specialist designers, art directors, junior assistants, crafts people and construction teams. And I collaborate closely with other experts within the industry including cinematographers, directors and screenwriters.

A production designer designs the worlds in which the TV Drama or film is set. That includes working with location people to choose locations in which to film - and building sets in studios. It can also involve working closely with SFX teams. The role juggles creative vision with practical project management. It's a collaborative media/ industry and relies heavily on communication skills- visual and verbal.

Teaching Experience:
I've tutored students looking to win a place in art schools/universities and specialist creative high schools. Students looking to better their results at A level, and I've taught larger classes of young adults in university and workshops. I help my four year old with his art and design too : )

Tutoring Approach:
My approach depends on the students needs and I am very flexible. I can work in a very focused way with the students brief on course curriculum. Or more loosely- developing verbal and practical skills for a portfolio for art school/media design or communication courses. I'm down to earth and structured in my approach.

I have 25 years experience in Design & Technology (Textiles) , Art and Health & Social Care. I am experienced up to GCSE in all three areas and have taught A Level Art & Design for A level in an FE college.
I have one to one tutor experience for nearly a year in a PRU in Pembrokeshire focussing on GCSE core subjects, ie English and Maths primarily.
