Nathan - Belfast tutor

Information About Nathan:

Personal Description:

Maths and Physics Masters student at Queen's University.

Aged 23, looking to add a few more tutees to my books to bolster the coffers while studying.

Teaching Experience:

Have taught several friends' siblings/children Maths and Physics from Primary to A-Level Further Maths.

In previous years tutored GCSE Maths and Add Maths, A-Level Further Maths and A-Level Physics.

Also helped out with Maths for University Engineering, Geography, Economics and Accounts.

Currently tutoring more of the same, and demonstrating on a QUB Level 1 Applied Maths course.

Have helped tutees bring GCSE maths grades up from G to C, E to B; AS Physics from E to B and A2 Maths from D to B. Have also helped maintain high-pass grades.

Tutoring Approach:

When dealing with a specific topic, I mostly work by problem classes, where I go through specific examples of problems step-by-step, making sure each part is thoroughly understood before advancing.

If it's to develop understanding of a broader range of topics, I take one or two sessions of clear, individualised theory before attempting problems.

I aim to teach to a point where the material is understood, rather than simply memorised and copied back word for word.
