Personal Description:
my name is Giulia, I am 28 years old and I come from Italy, where I gained a BA (Hons), with the equivalent of a First, and a MA (again, with the equivalent of a Distinction) in Classics (universita' di Udine). I am currently studying for a PhD in Classics at Royal Holloway, University of London.
As a foreign student, I also hold a TOEFL certificate in English.

Teaching Experience:

During my undegraduate program I have tutored four students from secondary schools in the form of private lessons, mainly in Latin and Greek, but also in English, Italian, history and philosophy. I can also help pupils and students develop a good method of studying in other art-based subjects like English or history.
I have taught at Royal Holloway within my department: I have run Greek literature seminars with first year Classics students in Octo/Nov 2010, and in 2011 and 2012 I taught Beginners and Intermediate Latin.
I have also been employed as an Italian tutor within the continuing education program at Strode's college, Egham.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is easygoing but also rigorous. I have a solid knowledge of Latin, Greek, Italian and English based on a 10 years school and university experience.
I am a very patient person who likes to prompt the students to reach indipendent thought and critical reasoning. For this reason, my method of teaching/tutoring is often based on discussion and confrontation, more than just lecturing. As far as primary school level is concerned, I do not have previous experience but I am keen to work with pupils as well: classical civilisations still have a great appeal also to the young ones and this aspect makes them very enjoyable at every level. I can also help students of every age develop an efficient method of learning and studying using the skills they already have.
Being still a student is a bonus, as I am well aware of what students' fears, needs and expectations are.

Personal Description:
Hi there! Having completed a Masters' degree and a Geography degree, both from Oxford University, I have just also finished the GDL (Graduate Diploma in Law) at BPP, London (Waterloo) with Distinction. I am now finalising my Law degree with the LPC (Legal Practice Course) at BPP, London (Holborn). I am a keen, passionate and determined tutor who has demonstrated sustained academic success since the age of 13 when I won two scholarships to Westminster School (Queen's Scholarship) and Haberdashers' Aske's, Elstree (Top Scholarship).

My subsequent qualifications are outlined below:

12 A* GCSEs (incl. full marks in English Language and Literature),

4 "A"A-Level Grades August 2009 in Mathematics (MEI), Geography, History and Biology also at Westminster School.

Highly Commended Prize Essays on 'Global Warming: An Inconvenient Truth or Convenient Untruth?' and 'Biofuels should no longer be considered as a weapon against climate change.'

BA (Hons.) Geography at Jesus College, Oxford 2009-2012.
First (Distinction) achieved in Prelim University 1st Year Exams, July 2010
Academic Scholarship Awarded for 2010-2012

MSc. Criminology & Criminal Justice: Green Templeton College, University Oxford, 2012-2013

GDL (Graduate Diploma in Law), BPP University, 2013-2014.
Distinction attained in final year exams.

LPC (Legal Practice Course), BPP University, 2015 -

Teaching Experience:

Very experienced tutor; over 200 hours of tutoring experience from 11+ to university interview preparation. I am a top tier tutor at other agencies.

My last four tutees have attained the highest academic achievements:
One gained a place reading Land Economy at Cambridge University,
ALL five of my 13+ candidates received places at EVERY one of the schools they applied for. Four of these five even achieved academic scholarships.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe there are a number of key principles to tutoring.
1) RAPPORT - each tutee is different and it is important not to have a set formula when working with each student, or even for each class. In my opinion, there should be an emphasis on identifying the needs of the student and working towards these goals.
2) TARGETS - what are we working towards, how we can get there and isolating areas for improvement.
3) PRACTICE - regular testing, from past papers to 4) GENERAL EXAM TECHNIQUE.

Employing these four principles as a foundation, tutoring can be productive and enjoyable and I have a number of testimonies to illustrate this point. For instance, last summer, I worked with an A-Level Geography candidate who was able to get their grade from an E at AS Level to an overall high B grade for their entire A Level.

Personal Description:
I am a Medical Biochemist and have been tutoring in science for the last 6 years. My 2013/2014 students did exceptionally well this summer with all A2 students achieving the grades they needed for university. I am happy to offer all new students a trial class free of charge.

All my classes are individually pre-planned to ensure my students get the most out of our sessions. My classes improve a students scientific understanding whilst explaining how to apply this knowledge in the exam context. When I meet a new student we will discuss their preferred method of teaching, and I then design classes accordingly. I cover AQA, OCR, WJEC and Edexcel exam boards and have helped many students through these syllabuses.

I am happy to tutor students of all abilities and however often you feel is necessary. Some of my students have one-off sessions when they are having trouble with a topic, others prefer to see me regularly until their exams.

GAMSAT: I am experienced in helping students revise for part III (reasoning in biological and physical sciences) of the GAMSAT. I am happy to offer lower prices for regular students. All students are offered a free first session where we can discuss your academic background, where we need to focus, and draw up a timetable to ensure you'll be fully prepared.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring for the last 6 years- in one-on-one sessions, group tutorials and larger classes. I have experience in tutoring all levels from KS3 to undergraduate, and with students of all academic abilities.

Personal Description:
I am a friendly and approachable tutor with a huge amount of enthusiasm in the subjects I teach. I was awarded a Scholarship to a competitive independent before working towards a Masters in Biochemistry at Oxford University.

I have since worked as a Pharmaceuticals Business Analyst, as a High Yield Chemicals Industry Analyst in Investment Banking and as an Air Traffic Controller. In each case the knowledge and skills from my education have been critical. I would now like to gain the satisfaction of helping others do well in these subjects and attain their potential.

Teaching Experience:

In my industries it is critical to continue learning and passing exams, and in every role, I have always had to pass on my knowledge and understanding to others, which has been incredibly gratifying. More recently, I have enjoyed tutoring maths and other subjects to pupils locally, often to help them gain entrance to competitive schools. I also enjoy spending time teaching my son and my nieces.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that learning should always be interesting to the pupil - inspirational even - and that the onus is on the teacher to make this the case. Learning is about being curious and asking questions; in fact I believe pupils should not be scared to ask any question, which means that learning should feel relaxed rather than formal.

Subjects should not be seen as complex but rather layers of straight forward principals that build on what the pupil already knows in an intuitive fashion. In this way, a good teacher allows understanding to grow naturally and not feel like a challenge.

Personal Description:
SAXOPHONE-I am an experienced saxophonist. Currently I play both alto and baritone saxophone. I have taught young pupils at my old school before for free, but now that i have gained enough experience, not just as a teacher but at a very high level in bands too, I am starting to tutor. I teach many different styles, have it be jazz, pop or classical. I offer tuition for students of all ages. Whether you are young and just starting out or older and wish to try something new/different for fun and want some guidance in the right direction, I am here to help. I teach for those at a amateur and beginner level. Music is a great passion of mine and I really enjoy teaching others something so great.

MATHS- I am a higher level maths student and i have an A grade at GCSE level maths. During my free periods i spend time helping lower school student who are struggling with their maths for free because i really enjoy teaching. I teach everything from key stage 1,2 and 3 maths to foundation GCSE students. Maths has always been a great ability of mine and I mainly teach it because I have a love for it and in my experience those who i have taught have found me very helpful.

Teaching Experience:

SAXOPHONE- I have taught young pupils at my old school before for free to gain some experience in teaching. I also play at a high level in the Hillingdon Music Service concert band and Sax Group, as well as in multiple Jazz and Big Bands.I have been on tour to France with the Music Service as well and have played for weddings too. I now have a good level of experience in both playing and teaching.

MATHS- I have been teaching GCSE and lower level maths for a few years now. I was part of a team who a few years ago went to the UK maths challenge representing my region of London. I enjoy teaching maths and in my experience those who i have taught have found me very useful.

Tutoring Approach:

I find that bringing out the passion in the student is what counts, so for music the genre they enjoy most and helping them fall in love with music that way. With maths i believe having a strategic plan of getting a topic or part of maths that the student is struggling with and keeping at it and doing questions and going through the solutions with them until they understand. I understand that many people struggle with maths or may not like it but i find that someone younger (such as myself) teaching them makes it a lot easier on them. Another good way i find with maths is going through questions and helping them understand how to get to the answer rather than just giving the answer and moving on with a simple tick or cross.

I tutor from my comfortable home in Bishopston, BS7 (but can do home visits locally where a special need exists). I have a degree in English, a PGCE in English teaching, experience of teaching English Language and Literature in secondary schools and experience as a GCSE examiner in English Literature. Therefore I am a specialist subject teacher for English. On the basis of further qualifications and work experience in social research and therapy I can also tutor Sociology and Psychology.

Teaching Experience:

Working full time in London and Bristol secondary schools for 5 years teaching English Language and Literature enabled me to stretch students of all abilities. After having my own family I returned to the challenges of secondary supply teaching. I have also worked as a social science researcher for Cardiff University in schools and have strong experience in the subject of Sociology. I am also a qualified, practising counsellor so have strong experience in the subject of Psychology. I worked as an examiner for the Midland Examining Group for 7 years on the GCSE Literature paper.

Teaching Experience:

Teaching Experience:
Since I have been a student all my life so did not get a chance to tutor. However I have experience to work with young people as a "Tutor" in the state run TRIO program in USA. This job has given me a clear understanding and significance of a good education, promoting effective learning, teaching and personal development. This first hand skill of working with children of school age has made me patient, tolerant and has also given me an ability to respond positively to special educational needs. Having this experience would definitely facilitate me to translate my knowledge better to pupils and that surely would aid them to understand the basic concepts.

I have taught the undergrads in Virginia State University, USA under the state run TRIO program

Tutoring Approach:

open to new ideas, initiator, like the tutee to solve the problem himself, but be a good guide,I believe in teaching patiently and with dedication. My approach to teaching is straightforward and begins with generating questions and curiosity within young people's minds so that they can think well.

Personal Description:
Not everyone can reach their potential in a class of perhaps thirty students, especially if peer pressure, noise and poor behaviour work against their best efforts; even at university nowadays, seminar groups are often crazily over-large. I began teaching as a genuine vocation, after many successful years as a marketing manager in the pharmaceutical industry. It is this background that makes me different; it has given me an approach to teaching that has changed the outlook and results of many young students similar to your own son and daughter, inspiring them with renewed confidence and enthusiasm. The large number of genuine four and five star references on this site and elsewhere are evidence of this. As well as teach, I also write for several publishers including the BBC; also I have been the "BBC Bitesize English teacher" for some years, responding to educational queries sent in to their website.

I have taught English Language and Literature (as well as Media and Film Studies) to KS3, GCSE, A-level and under-graduate level for several years; I also tutor primary (KS2) students, helping them with their KS2 and entrance exam preparation. My speciality, apart from a natural love of English Literature. is linguistics and I suppose, through my teaching materials, I have become quite well known even nationally for my work in this area.

I taught for many years at the county's leading comprehensive school, The Beauchamp College in Oadby, where year-on-year my classes achieved amongst the highest results in the school, and therefore amongst the highest in the county of Leicestershire.

As well as a teacher of English, thanks to my business background, qualifications and interests, over the years I have been able to help many students studying Sociology, Business Studies and History, right through to undergraduate level.

As a naturally shy individual despite a confident-seeming exterior, I am especially keen on building confidence in my students, and I try hard to improve public speaking skills as these are so important not just for interviews and the like, but for a general feeling of well-being and inner-confidence. Schools seem unable to help quiet or shy students and this is an area in which I think I can say I excel.

I am nationally known and respected for my teaching materials and run a very popular English GCSE and A-level revision website. My teaching materials and guides are used throughout the country and even overseas. As the BBC's "Bitesize" English teacher, I have even been on the Greg James's Radio 1 show, answering students' revision 'Tweets' and discussing with him his favourite book, To Kill a Mockingbird!

Teaching Experience:

I currently teach part-time at a local A-level college but for many years taught at the leading school in the area, the Beauchamp College in Oadby, Leicester; whilst there I regularly achieved among the top pass rates in the school and, therefore, in the whole county. I write educational materials for national publishers including the BBC; I am also the BBC Bitesize English teacher and have appeared on national radio (Radio 1); my teaching materials are used by other teachers across the country. I run a popular my own well-known and very popular English GCSE and A-level revision website.

Tutoring Approach:

I take a no-nonsense and straightforward approach to my teaching - one that provides excellent value for money and exam results. Lessons and homework are supported with the highest quality teaching and learning materials available. My personal approach is to treat youngsters as equals, something they tell me is rare in teaching and which boosts their self-confidence greatly.

Personal Description:
Originally from Newcastle, I am now an actor and enjoy tutoring alongside my acting work. I have worked in TV, and also in theatre, including venues such as The National Theatre and the West End. Especially with younger students, I like to keep my lessons creative and practical. I studied English and Drama at Bristol University and then went on to train at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Recently, I have been tutoring in English, Drama, 11+ Common Entrance exams and general Primary school help.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring for over 6 years. Alongside my tutoring, I am currently teaching Music and Drama in schools and I run workshops with Sixth Formers on ways of analysing texts practically.

7+ - I worked with Elektra (6) preparing her for 7+ Examinations. Covering English, Maths and Reasoning focussed on entry to Notting Hill and Ealing High School.

7+ - Working with Harry on English, Maths and exam technique, focussing him for 7+ exam for Dulwich Prep School. Harry has traits of both dyslexia and dyspraxia.

7+ - I work with Jules on his English. Jules is French and has just started attending a French school, so we are working to keep his English up to scratch. Main areas of focus are: speaking, spelling, listening/understanding and grammar.

7+ - Working with Charlie mainly on English, increasing his confidence in all areas but focussing on Writing, Grammar and Punctuation, and Comprehension.

11+ - Working with Guy on English and Maths one day a week. Mainly focussed on Guy's writing and spelling. Guy is preparing for entry to Westminster and Eton Schools.

11+ - I worked with Ingrid on English and Maths in preparation for exams for Notting Hill and Ealing High School, Francis Holland and Godolphin and Latymer Schools. Ingrid went to her first choice of Notting Hill and Ealing High.

11+ - I worked with Olivia in preparation for her Common Entrance exams on all papers (English, Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning) as well as interview practice. Olivia is now attending North London Collegiate School (her first choice) but I also prepared her for entrance to Highgate School for Girls, City of London School for Girls and Queen's College.

Primary Help - I worked with brothers Teddy (7) and Alfie (10) mainly on English and Maths but also across all subjects generally to improve knowledge, confidence, spelling and vocabulary.

Primary Help - I worked with Rohan (10) on improving his confidence and basic skills in English and Maths. Rohan was very inquisitive and keen but needed help focussing and answering the specific questions that he was being asked.

A Level English Literature (AQA) - worked with Oliver (17) helping with coursework on The Great Gatsby and the poetry of Keats and Larkin. Oliver achieved an A grade.

AS Level Drama (AQA) - helped Yasmin to explore the analysis of texts of Lady Windermere's Fan and A View From The Bridge in preparation for exams, in which she achieved an A.

GCSE English Literature - tutored Amy in preparation for coursework and exams. Texts: Lord of The Flies and A View From The Bridge.

Home Schooling - Inigo (6 when I started) had been getting reports of generally dropping behind in class work with a lack of concentration. I homeschooled him every Friday for two terms. He was having particular trouble in English and Maths. Inigo was struggling especially with English, in all areas, and was most behind with Spelling and Grammar. For him to engage, I had to be both creative (to keep him interested) but also quick as the plan was to get him into Kew Green Primary for the next academic year. We covered the basics of year 1 and ironed out any problems (also to give him confidence with the things he could do) and then went onto year 2. I would use a lot of what he was naturally interested in (football and particular comic book characters) in the teaching to keep his attention. With Maths, Inigo could do simple addition and subtraction but struggled when getting into 2 digits, multiplication, or any sort of wordy problem where the sum to be done was not absolutely clear. So, again, we covered the basics and then pushed on. He worked really hard and eventually we were looking forward to things he may encounter next year. At first Inigo was quite reluctant to work but I managed to win him over and build up a good rapport for productive days of homeschooling. Thankfully, he gained a place at Kew Green, and we were delighted! (Though it did mean, unfortunately, that he didn't need me any more...).

English for Foreign Learners - Helped 8 year old Augustinos (Greek) with reading and homework to improve English, as well as taking him on educational trips around London.

Drama (practical) - Coached Emily (21) and Hannah (20) with acting lessons in preparation for Drama School Entry auditions. Emily has now trained at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and Hannah is training at LAMDA.

Voice and Elocution - Helped Law Student Amar (20) with speechmaking and projection for use in debating.

SEN - worked with Dean (20), a law student with dyslexia, upon exam preparation and practice.

Tutoring Approach:

I will tailor whatever I teach to my pupil's needs. I am very easy to get along with and very open to how you think you or your child will best learn. Above all I would want a pupil to look forward to my sessions with them so will make sure that they are practical, interesting and varied. Especially with the younger students I teach I think that lessons need to be fun to keep them excited about learning! If you have any questions at all or specific enquiries, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Personal Description:
I am a British/Turkish citizen and have been living in the UK since 1992.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching English/Turkish since 1995. I have also been working as a freelance interpreter and translator since 1993.

Tutoring Approach:

I teach English and Turkish languages at every level. I tailor my teaching according to the tutee's knowledge of the language. Hence I have had tutees with no knowledge of the language at all or some with little knowledge of Turkish or English. I also have had tutees who know English or Turkish well but wish to improve their pronunciations further. I am flexible: I teach in my own home, in tutee's home or give online lessons. I understand a lot of people have other commitments such as jobs, children and the like. Therefore depends on what the tutee wants I give homework or confine my teaching to the lessons. I do a lot of repetition as I believe this is a good way to remember anything learned.

I can teach you how to use your DSLR camera plus the basics and more advanced tools for creative photography and documentary style projects. Complete beginners to the more advanced photographer welcome.

Personal Description:
Bonjour! I am an enthusiastic and fully qualified French (and German) secondary school teacher with lots of experience of teaching pupils at Key Stage 3, GCSE, AS and A2 level. I believes that language learning should be fun and that every student has the ability to progress and achieve their potential with the right help.

I am an easy going and patient individual who always aims to challenge and get the most out of my students, whatever their individual levels may be. I recognise that languages do not come easily to some people so my aim is to create a secure and comfortable learning environment and a good working relationship with students so they feel comfortable making mistakes or asking questions.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching career started when I lived in France and I taught English in two French schools. I have since taught French at KS3, GCSE and A level in two secondary schools and a private school in England. Although I am a classroom teacher, I am also used to teaching students on an individual basis (e.g. one of my current GCSE groups is a one student class) and I have a number of private tutees I see at home.

I have an up to date working knowledge of GCSE and A level exams so am able to guide students about what to include in coursework, how to prepare and practice for controlled assessments and how to practise technique for final exams in listening, speaking, reading or writing. I have an excellent working knowledge of KS3 National Curriculum levels and what students should do to improve their levels.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is all about the individual tutee and ensuring I meet their personal needs, whatever they may be. From a brief initial assessment or chat with the student/parents, I will create individual lesson plans and tutoring resources for our future tutor sessions so that the student gets the most they can from every minute of my time. What we do in sessions is a two way process and constantly reviewed; I will always ask tutees at the end of sessions what they found helpful and what they didn't, so I can always work to meet their needs as our time together increases.

My tutoring style is a fun, friendly but firm approach so students build a good working relationship with me yet also knowing that I will always try to challenge them, in order for them to do their best. I'm a patient tutor who always listens to pupils' concerns or worries and tries to put them at ease as confidence is key to language learning.

Travel: Students must be able to travel to my home (very near the ring road)

Time of tutorials:
During term time - ideally on a Saturday or Sunday morning depending on my workload with other tutees and school at the time. If in doubt, please ask and I'll see if I could be flexible.

During the school holidays - greater flexibility to have tutorials more frequently each week (which is good if the student needs a more intensive approach for a particular need) and I can often do during the day Monday to Friday.

Please note, for AS level I charge £30 per hour and for A2 level, I charge £35 per hour.

Personal Description:
I am a professional Geographer specialised in Urban Sciences and Asia Studies. I am an expert in World Regional Geography. I have gained my knowledge and expertise from 5 universities of 4 different countries. I am currently a freelance geographer who takes very much effort to complete a doctoral dissertation for gaining PhD degree. I have been mainly researching in the field 'Geography of Energy', which subject in my interpretation bases on the synthesised physical and human geography (that includes physics, geology, geomorphology, hydrology, climatography, environmental and landscape geography, pollution science, biology, ecology and also settlement, industrial and social geography). I am able to perform and combine various geographical fields related to that. I have a prime addiction to Nature and to the outdoor environment that also includes the built environment and human settlements. I am currently a PhD aspirant at the Doctoral School of Earth Sciences at the University of Pécs in Hungary. During my years at University I was given the chance to gain experience as a lecturer; teaching subjects which included: renewable energy resources and world regional geography. My educational years have given me many benefits which include over 30 published articles and 10 books (editor and writer) mainly in Hungarian but also in English. I continue to educate myself as I have a genuine enthusiasm for my subject.

Geography has always been a hobby for me. In 2002, I decided to become a properly qualified geographer enabling me to maintain my hobby, as well as expanding my knowledge to a professional level. In the following 9 years, I successfully obtained a postgraduate degree (MSc) and was accepted to carry on to achieve the highest possible academic certification in Earth Sciences (PhD). This latter one is still on-going and I hope to complete it within a few years. Although, having the correct qualifications to be a geographer is important, being knowledgeable about the environment and having first-hand experience of the outdoors is perhaps more essential than having a degree. The world has to be seen and observed. Accordingly, I have been granted to undertake my studies in a handful of universities across Europe (Hungary, England, Slovenia and Croatia) and I have gained competitive geography knowledge and experience.

Teaching Experience:

Being a 'good' teacher is a subjective opinion that I cannot state about myself. I am experienced in a wide-range of teaching environments from primary/secondary school-aged pupils to adult/prison learning and higher education. People who have observed me teaching in the past have had positive criticism of my work and mentioned how efficient and encouraging my lessons and teaching methods are. In my opinion, to be a good teacher it is essential to be flexible with the environment you work in and have to have comprehensive knowledge both in outdoors and in classroom settings. You have to experience and observe the outside world for you to engage and maintain properly an enthusiastic class when teaching geography.

The qualifications and the reputation I have obtained in Geography are the results of an enthusiasm I have had since my childhood for this subject area and it is still part of my daily life that comes to life through my own business and its journal. Geography is not only my profession, but is also my hobby that is present in my life with all of its aspects, whether it be examining a piece of rock or talking about coffee beans, I can discuss both in an academic sense as well as out of personal interest. The diverse use of language therefore is important when encouraging others on geography and the key is to find a common interest between subject and receiver for them to understand and to be inspired by what they are learning. For example, when teaching in the prison, Mathematics combined with Geography suddenly becomes more interesting and therefore engaging.

Tutoring Approach:

For a researcher with a deep understanding about the Earth's mechanisms, Geography will always reserve a high number of mysteries. Research is the foundation for everything that is taught and this will always be exciting for me to do. But the implementation of this new knowledge may be challenging, that is why you have to keep thinking of new teaching methods to improve the quality of the subject that you are teaching. For this reason, it is essential to assist the younger generation for them to become capable to deal with geography related topics and issues. As originally a researcher with a non-British educational background and with a very colourful and diverse interest in Earth Sciences, I am able to shake things up. My aim is to develop people's knowledge, foster their understandings on geography and help them achieve the required goals set by the school/exam board which I hope will motivate them into using geographical knowledge in their daily lives.

Personal Description:
I am an ex- Imperial College academic who now runs a team and personal development consultancy. I am calm and encouraging in manner. I moved out of the city into the countryside six years ago and have never once regretted it.

I was a Science and Engineering Ambassador for SETNET. In 2005 I had and Enhanced Disclosure CRB check. I was responsible for organizing a number of Science Outreach events. Science can be fun!!

I have been told that I am a good motivator and that I help people fulfill their potential. All my students show significant grade enhancement, sometimes from U to A!

Teaching Experience:

I was a senior lecturer in Physical Chemistry at Imperial College London, where I was also Senior Tutor. This meant that I had responsibility for the entire departmental tutorial system for some~450 students and the training of new members of staff. I have been involved in small group teaching for over 13 years.

I have been privately tutoring AS/A2 Chemistry and Physics for around two years in the Hants / Surrey borders.

I also help with UCAS applications as I had an admissions role at IC.

I have some experience of working with people with Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ADHD and Aspergers.

Tutoring Approach:

Each student is different and I tailor my method to the needs of the student, offering a bespoke approach. It usually takes three or four sessions to get to know what does and does not work for each individual. I try different methods. Some people learn more visually and conceptually others like more practical methods. I prefer to work through problems / exam papers with the student rather than "teach". That way in working together the student takes responsibility for their own learning. Learning is by discussion and doing.

I try to be as flexible as possible and fit round family schedules.
