| Personal Description: I am a friendly, committed, reliable tutor in my 30s who has had a great track record of helping students maximise their potential. It would be delighted to offer you my services. |
Teaching Experience: I've had five years full-time teaching at a secondary school, and around six years (3000+ hours) of private tutoring - over a decade of working with young people as an educator. I have taught nearly all major subjects in this order of expertise (most experienced first): English, Mathematics, Verbal Reasoning, Non-verbal Reasoning, Religious Studies, Drama, Philosophy, Critical Thinking, ICT, Music, History, French, Science, Latin, Geography, Sociology, Technology, Child Development. I am also a Debating and Public Speaking coach (having taken a team to victory in the national finals a few years' back). I am a qualified and experience teacher of English as a second/foreign language. I am an accomplished pianist and can give piano lessons at your home. |
Tutoring Approach: I enjoy working with students and seeing them grow in their confidence, discipline and abilities, and ultimately reach their potential. I usually see students once or twice a week and seek to complement the work they are set at school or work specifically towards examinations (including entrance exams, Key Stage 2 and 3, GCSEs, A-levels and beyond). I am flexible and am happy to work with primary, secondary, university and adult learners. I have some experience teaching two students at the same time, which brings a more stimulating dynamic to the lessons. I prefer students to come to my house to maximise my teaching hours, but am prepared to come out to you for a 5 call-out fee. I work all day weekdays to around 7/8pm and Saturday all day, though not Sundays. |

Students who follow my regimen will achieve grade A's. I am also preparing an 11 and 12 year old for A level maths. Hands-on tools provide opportunities for students to learn key concepts and techniques through active participation and inquiry. My practicle lab sessions allow efficient implementation and standardization of biotechnology activities in the classroom. My sessions are adaptable to a range of grade levels (keystage 3 through University), so you can choose the depth of information that you want to learn. My personal resources are held on my own VLE which all my students can access. Pupils are constantly tracked, not only on subject knowledge but also how well they analyse exam questions and what they need to improve. | Personal Description: I am a 25 year old Mathematics Teacher who has had excellent teaching experience. I am a graduate from the Univeristy of Warwick and I have completed an MA in Education |
Teaching Experience: I have been a Mathematics Teacher for three years with students ages 11-18. I have taught GCSE Mathematics and A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics. |
Tutoring Approach: I am happy to be flexible in my tutoring approach, I am enthusiastic about encouraging students to excel in mathematics in areas they enjoy and areas which may be proving tricky at the time. Neither area should be neglected and this is a challenge I would accept alongside my tutee. The starting point would be taking in both positive comments and concerns, from which to decide on a plan of action with my tutee based on period of time allocated. I would draw on the wide range of resources I have available based on the needs of the tutee. |

| Personal Description: Hey there. I'm Danny, and I'm a student based in London. I study medicine at Imperial College London, but my interests aren't solely limited to science! I love learning new languages, and currently take classes in high-level German in addition to my medical studies. I enjoy travelling and learning new things, and am committed to furthering the education of the next generation. |
Teaching Experience: As I'm still a student, I have no professional qualifications yet in regard to teaching. However, I do have a younger sister whom I helped guide through science classes at both GCSE and Sixth Form level. After buying a whiteboard for my room on a whim, I began helping her with concepts one-on-one style. It is because of how much I enjoyed doing this that I decided to become a tutor. I now attend conferences aimed at helping younger students get into medical school, which includes conducting mock interviews, helping students with their personal statements and tutoring them. |
Tutoring Approach: The most important thing to me is that any tutee of mine understands the fundamental concepts of what they're learning, rather than simply rote learning, as much more is achieved this way. It's also important that I help encourage any tutee to enjoy what they doing. I like to approach topics with a laid-back attitude whilst still maintaining a firm schedule of work. I hope that my being a student will allow an informal atmosphere between myself and any tutee, and that we can build a good relationship during out tutoring time. |

| Personal Description: Primarily I am employed as an Automotive Engineer, and have been since September 2011. Before this I was reading for a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering which I obtained from Cardiff University. I have been tutoring Maths since I was studying for my Mathematics A-level in sixth form, and all through my University studies, and now that I have settled into my new surroundings would like to get back into tutoring Maths. For my Mathematics A-Level I averaged 98% across all six exams (Core 1,2,3,4 Mechanics 1,2), and the classification of my Mechanical Engineering degree (which consisted copious amounts of Maths) was a First Class (with Honours). |
Teaching Experience: My tuition experience began while I was in sixth form studying for my A-levels. I started out tutoring two primary school children who were having difficulties with maths, and within a few weeks had began tutoring a few more individuals who were preparing for their GCSE examinations, all the while I was studying for my Maths A-Level exams. Throughout the years I was reading for my degree I tutored several GCSE level pupils (who had been given my details by previous tutees) nearly all of whom achieved the highest grade possible. Additionally, I have experience of Maths Tuition through the Welsh medium (as many of my previous tutees were sitting their exams in Welsh). |
Tutoring Approach: My approach can be made flexible to the needs of the tutee, focusing on problem areas or preparation for particular exams. Typically I will use questions from previous examination papers as examples with which to build an understanding of the subject as well as prepare the tutee for the format of the exam which they are studying for. I believe the most important thing is for the tutee to understand how to solve the problem. |

| Personal Description: I am a second year medical student at Imperial College London. Having just graduated from secondary school I feel that I am an ideal candidate to help ease the challenges of school subjects for students. During my school career I achieved 8 A* and 4 A's. Furthermore I achieved 1 A* and 3 A's during my A levels, additionally I also achieved another A at As level in Further Maths. My AS physics grade was the best in my year achieving. 296/300 UMS. I have participated in the UK maths challenge achieving the bronze and silver award. |
Teaching Experience: I helped teach many students from younger years in a range of subjects and enjoyed watching them progress and improve. I think the fact that having just been through what most of these students are going through gives me a slight advantage due to my knowledge being recent and up to date. I also have experience in teaching A-level Maths as well as GCSE Maths. |
Tutoring Approach: I am patient and calm in my approach and try to ensure that each of my students understands the concepts of what I am teaching. I appreciate that each student is different and the approach taken to each of them must remain flexible. |

| Personal Description: I am a second year chemical engineering student at Imperial College London. I am very friendly and easy going. Most importantly, I am passionate about the subjects I tutor and feel this will make the experience for tutees much bettter. |
Teaching Experience: I have previously helped out in maths lessons during my time in secondary school, and also took part in helping out at AS level chemistry drop in sessions. |
Tutoring Approach: I have a relaxed approach, whilst making sure any difficulties tutees have are dealt with in depth and not simply brushed over. In order to understand complex ideas, I feel it is very important for tutees to have a sound knowledge in the basic concepts first, so they do not feel too overwhelmed when difficult concepts arise. I will help tutees to achieve their full potential by increasing their confidence and helping to not only understand their subjects better, but possibly even enjoy them more too. |

| Personal Description: I'm friendly and hard working. Maths has always seemed to be a relatively useless thing to be talented in but I hope I can use it to my benefit and to help others. |
Teaching Experience: Little to none other than helping classmates, older sister, and university enrolled Mother with their work. |
Tutoring Approach: Make sure all of the smaller details are understood before moving onto bigger things. Memorizing formulas is usually fine but if you can understand WHY things work then you should never have a problem. |

| Personal Description: Hi, My name is Lucinda, I live in Putney and I'm currently on my gap year before studying Medicine at Edinburgh University this September. As well as my studies I'm an active and sociable person. I enjoy playing tennis, squash and lacrosse competitively and I have just been away in France working in a Hotel in Val D'Isere for the ski season. Before that, I was working as a nanny for a family in Sheen, so I have experience with children. I am planning to go travelling from 16th June but am living at home and free until this date. I really enjoyed academic life at school and was proud of the grades I managed to achieve. At GCSE level I studied Maths, English Literature, English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, Geography, French (achieved grade A* in these) and Spanish (achieved grade A). At A-level I studied Biology, Chemistry, Maths and also studied Physical Education to As-level. Achieving equivalent to A* (Maths), A (Biology, Chemistry, Physical Education). |
Teaching Experience: Although I have not officially done any tutoring before I have a younger sister (currently 14yr) who I have regularly helped over the years with her academic work. Also for the past three summers I have coached lacrosse at 'Chiswick Lacrosse', giving me experience with children of different ages and further developing my communication skills. |
Tutoring Approach: I think it is really important that all academic work is driven by the individual, although at younger ages I appreciate they may need a lot of support and encouragement for this. I also think school work should be enjoyed and aim to make it as interesting as possible, mainly by using varied learning techniques. |
