About Mona:
I have recently graduated from the University of Leeds, with a first class degree in French and Law, with a distinction in spoken French. I am a friendly and confident person.

About Juliet:
I am a 23 year old graduate who studied German and English at Strathclyde University, Glasgow and who has recently done a trinity CERTTESOL course in Edinburgh. I am an honest, flexible, sociable, enthusiastic, patient and caring individual who has had to develop very good organisational skills through university and meet deadlines. As part of my course, I studied for a year in north-west Germany at a university which had a capacity of over 35 000 students. Therefore I am aware of the difficulties that people face when having to come to a different country and learn another language and I would like to be able to offer my English language skills as a native speaker.

Teaching Experience:

During my time in Germany, I helped a 17 year old boy with his English conversation and preparation for English examinations. I also had 6 hours of teaching experience while I was on the CertTESOL course and at the moment I am teaching a French student English communication skills and grammar within a range of topics. I also recently taught an Indian student English grammar and pronunciation and he is now going back to India.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to take a fun, lively approach to tutoring and I conduct a needs analysis questionnaire on our first meeting so that I can develop of an idea of the kind of areas in which the learner would like to develop his or her skills or feels that she or he has weaknesses. In this way I aim to cater for the individual needs of every student. AT THE MOMENT I TUTOR FROM HOME BUT THIS SITUATION WILL BE CHANGING AS I AM MOVING FLATS AT THE END OF JULY AND THERE WILL BE NO SPACE FOR TUTORING IN THE NEW FLAT.

About Naveed:
I am final year BEng(Hon), Mechanical Engineering student . I have highly outstanding academic profile and got distinctions in mathematics and physics throughout. My grades are as follows:
Degree (Ist): 3rd year, BEng (Hon), Mechanical Engineering (76.57%)
HSSC (A): Mathematics (A+), Physic (A), Chemistry (B),
SSC(A+): Mathematics (A+), Physic(A+), Chemistry (A+)

Teaching Experience:

I have no formal teaching experience but I am tutoring A-levels mathematics and physics to students for last 6 months

Tutoring Approach:

I am very patient, committed and aim to provide a relaxed atmosphere for students in which they can feel confident and i think these skills make me ideal for tutoring. I intend to build their confidence by presenting the subjects to them in an interesting and inspiring manner. Students often find it difficult to relate maths to any future career that's why I try to highlight practical application of the topics where possible. I would be willing to concentrate on specific areas that the student requests. My approach is focused on problem-solving and exam preparation. I find that a deeper understanding of the mathematical sciences can only come with practice.

I am enthusiastic and I love teaching. I have great interpersonal skills, I am well organised, and am committed to making a difference.

Teaching Experience:

I was a French teaching assistant for St Edmunds Campion in Birmingham for 1 year, and have taught French in France for the last 2 years.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to make my teaching experience as enjoyable as possible. For adults, I tend to use Microsoft Office applications a lot more, like PowerPoint during my lessons. I find it saves a lot of time as to putting pen to paper.
With children, I use a lot more learning aids including songs and games. I also keep there parents up to date by emailing lesson plans in advance.

Before I write my lesson plans, it is essential that I establish the needs of the pupil, as to what they actually want to achieve.

About Stuart:
I work for a large investment bank as a Fund Accountant. I've been working within Financial Services for the last 2 years however working within Finance for the last 4 years.

I am studying towards my professional qualification in Management Accounting. If you require further information please visit http://www.cimaglobal.com

I am on the Managerial Level of the subject however the majority of my skills come from experience. Experience does of course make things alot easier to understand and being able to share my experiences with you will really help you pass your forthcoming exams.

Teaching Experience:

No experience of tutoring however as I work for a large organisation it's important for me to be able to communicate with lots of different people which is why I feel I could help you.

Tutoring Approach:

I'll have a read over your materials or I have my own books if you have an interest in accounting. Then we can go through the main syllabus areas.

We can then use real examples and apply the course materials to a real situation. This really has aided me in my exams and examiners love to see "APPLICATION".

If you have a burning desire to become an Accountant then application is the key. This is where I can help you. I'll share my experiences with you and get your mind thinking in the same way an examiner wants you to think.

We can meet pretty much anywhere within Edinburgh. A coffee shop or I can make visits to your home if you feel more comfortable there.

Obviously if your a parent you would prefer this option so just send me an email.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Kind Regards

Stuart Wilson

About Leanne:
As a student my biggest memory was of my biggest teacher, he expressed his knowledge with enthusiasm, energy and honesty.

Private tuition or assistance with learning, form filling or preparing for any event in your life has become an integral part of our educational society today.
My belief is that the bonus of having one to one contact with a individual tutor or trainer is that you can agree and set the pace, ensuring a complete level of understanding throughout.

Tutoring Approach:

Sometimes when we are introduced to new concepts in schools or learning environments we are not always given the chance to express our thoughts or concerns about the concepts.
The subject may move in a different direction leaving your floundering and wondering, this can be the switch off point.
Switch Back ON!
I will endeavour to build on the basics, give you a solid foundation and help you move forward in whichever direction you want to go by listening to you, assessing your level and working within your boundaries before stretching them.
I have a teaching room within my house in Saltash where I carry out the lessons, I use computer based resources, books, games, cards and other numerous learning resources to suit the individual learner.

About Heather:
I am a fully qualified teacher with 30 years experience in primary schools and middle schools.
I also have experience of teaching adult numeracy and literacy classes and of teaching English as a foreign language.
I enjoy teaching children and adults of all ages and get a real sense of satisfaction from seeing their confidence grow and their skills improve.

Teaching Experience:

I taught full time in primary schools for 22 years teaching all subjects at key stage 2. During this time I taught many children with special needs, children with behavioural difficulties which created barriers to their learning, as well as children who needed to be challenged with more demanding work.

I have recently worked in the middle school system specialising in maths in Yr5 to Yr8.

For the last 4 years I have also enjoyed teaching numeracy and literacy classes to adults wishing to improve their skills and confidence with these subjects in their everyday lives.

In 1993 I spent a wonderful 6 months teaching English conversation to groups of teenagers in a Polish high school in Warsaw and to adults in the local community.

I am fully up to date with the National Curriculum and current teaching methods used in schools and have been involved in teaching and preparation for KS2 SATs.

Tutoring Approach:

I adopt an individual approach, getting to know each child (or adult), assessing their individual strengths and areas for improvement and adapting my teaching style to best support them. I try to create an environment where everyone feels comfortable, encouraged and motivated - and where they can enjoy learning.

About Kimberly:
I teach singing, particularly musical theatre and pop. I am also available to teach music theory up to grade 5.

Teaching Experience:

I have a BSc Hons Speech and Language Sciences, which included study of the healthy voice and voice disorders caused by vocal abuse and misuse. Now that I have graduated I want to establish myself as a full-time vocal coach. I have experience teaching both one to one and group lessons and I teach regularly for stage schools and a professional theatre company. I also have experience working with choirs.

Tutoring Approach:

I teach using mainly the Estill method, which is essential for musical theatre as it coveres a wide range of techniques and styles, including healthy belting. Lessons are 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the pupil's preference. I work on what you want to sing, but I will advise on suitable repetoire and technical aspects that need to be worked on. I am flexible and willing to teach small groups (e.g. for duets or group songs). Theory tuition can either be one-to-one or in groups.
