I taught full time in primary schools for 22 years teaching all subjects at key stage 2. During this time I taught many children with special needs, children with behavioural difficulties which created barriers to their learning, as well as children who needed to be challenged with more demanding work.

I have recently worked in the middle school system specialising in maths in Yr5 to Yr8.

For the last 4 years I have also enjoyed teaching numeracy and literacy classes to adults wishing to improve their skills and confidence with these subjects in their everyday lives.

In 1993 I spent a wonderful 6 months teaching English conversation to groups of teenagers in a Polish high school in Warsaw and to adults in the local community.

Now that I have graduated I want to establish myself as a full-time vocal coach. I have experience teaching both one to one and group lessons and I teach regularly for stage schools and a professional theatre company. I also have experience working with choirs.

Tutoring Approach:
I teach using mainly the Estill method, which is essential for musical theatre as it coveres a wide range of techniques and styles, including healthy belting. Lessons are 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the pupil's preference. I work on what you want to sing, but I will advise on suitable repetoire and technical aspects that need to be worked on. I am flexible and willing to teach small groups (e.g. for duets or group songs). Theory tuition can either be one-to-one or in groups.
