Christina - Coulsdon tutor
Information About Christina:
Personal Description:
Hi, I'm Christina, a recent Acting graduate from Performers College with a passion for helping young people grow in confidence, creativity, and self-expression.
Throughout my training, I've worked with children and young people in a variety of settings, including supporting performing arts classes and providing childcare and educational support. I love creating a friendly, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing at their own pace.
As someone who has recently completed my education, I understand the challenges of learning and exams, and I bring fresh, up-to-date knowledge and techniques to my sessions. Whether I'm helping with homework, creative writing, drama, or audition preparation, I aim to make learning engaging, personalised, and enjoyable.
Outside of teaching, I'm passionate about theatre, film, creative writing, and music. I enjoy reading, attending performances, and exploring storytelling in all its forms. I believe learning should spark curiosity and confidence, and I love helping students discover what they are capable of achieving.
Teaching Experience:
Alongside my studies, I have gained experience working with children and young people in educational and creative settings. I have supported performing arts classes for students under 13 through West London Performing Arts Academy, assisting with acting, singing, and dance sessions. This role helped me develop skills in lesson support, classroom management, encouraging participation, and adapting activities to suit different ages and abilities. I have also provided childcare and educational support, helping young learners with homework, organisation, confidence-building, and creative development.
My teaching approach is student-centred, supportive, and engaging. I believe every learner develops differently, so I tailor sessions to individual goals, learning styles, and interests. I focus on creating a positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence. I break complex concepts into manageable steps and use practical activities, discussion, and creative exercises to keep students motivated and involved.
My subject expertise includes drama and acting, creative writing, English-related skills, audition preparation, public speaking, and performing arts. I have experience working with Shakespeare, contemporary theatre, character development, script analysis, monologue preparation, and drama school applications. Through my own recent educational journey, I am also well-equipped to support students with study skills, coursework organisation, and homework assistance.
In addition to my degree, I hold extensive performing arts qualifications, including ABRSM Piano and Music Theory Grades 1-8, singing examinations through the Royal College of Music, and ISTD dance qualifications. These experiences have strengthened my communication skills, discipline, creativity, and ability to adapt my teaching to different learners.
My goal as a tutor is not only to help students improve academically or artistically but also to build their confidence, independence, and enjoyment of learning.
Tutoring Approach:
Whether you're looking for help with homework, creative writing, acting, drama school auditions, public speaking, or building confidence, I will create a personalised learning plan tailored specifically to you.
As a recent graduate, I bring current industry knowledge, fresh techniques, and an understanding of the challenges students face today. My lessons are relaxed, supportive, and engaging, designed to help you learn without feeling pressured. I believe students achieve their best when they feel comfortable, encouraged, and genuinely enjoy the learning process.
No matter your starting point, I'll help you build confidence, develop new skills, and work towards your goals at a pace that suits you.
