I am 35 years old and a mother of two young daughters. I am a very active person who loves new challenges. Due to my great interest in the science I studied sciences throughout my A levels and completed a Zoology degree at university. I am passionate about my subject and love the opportunities I have been given to inspire and enthuse students. I enjoy developing relationships with students, building their confidence and pushing their understanding as far as possible. I find teaching a very rewarding experience and as such hope that I can help other students out of the classroom to help achieve their goals.

Teaching Experience:

I have been working as a very successful teacher for 12 years and have been in the position of Head of Faculty at a very successful comprehensive school in Ipswich for the last 3 years. I have worked in a total of three schools each with very different catchments and approaches and as a result believe I have acquired skills to teach to a very wise range of personalities and abilities. In each school I have been offered promotional opportunities. In ofsted inspections I have been rated as very good to excellent.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that it is important to prepare thoroughly for each individual tutees needs. I teach through discussion , activities and value pupils views and opinions on the learning process. I prepare work according to the needs of the tutee, which includes homework activities, marking and assessment of all work completed. I hope to build up the understanding and confidence of the tutee in the subjects needed so they can go on to be more successful in achieving their goals.

About Helen:
I am 23 years old and work as a Special Support Assistant in a Behavioural Unit. I graduated from Northumbria University last year after studying BSc Psychology for 4 years.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked as a Special Support Assistant in a Behavioural Unit (PALS) for a year and a half. I'm currently planning, implementing and teaching ICT Clait to learners aged 14-16. Throughout my role I have support students with behavioural and learning difficulties in many subjects e.g English and Maths being the main ones. I also have experience working with learners aged 7-10, supporting them in Numeracy and Literacy.

Between finishing University and working for PALS I have ample experience working in primary and secondary schools as I worked for a supply agency.

Tutoring Approach:

I love teaching and as I work with learners who have behavioural and learning difficulties I have learned to be very patient. I also understand that each learner is different and may require a different learning style. I try to accommodate this as best as I can, by changing how I present information or worksheets.

Tutoring Approach:

Before i charge any student I will conduct an assessment of your needs and type of lessons you want to have. Then a plan will be suggested and details of charges and times will be agreed. My approach to tutoring is that consistency is key. A student and tutor must stick to a program of development and a routine of lessons in order for their to be successful improvement. Motivation is another key aspect and the tutors role includes motivating her student.
For students wanting to improve for school (key skills, GCSE, etc) I as a tutor have an up-to-date knowledge of the syllabuses and what is required from the student in order for them to not only comprehend the work in question but to also be capable of being successful in examinations.
For students wanting to learn English as a foreign language, contrary to group classes where individual needs are somehow ignored, your private lessons can be tailor-made to your specific needs and requirements. You decide what type of lesson you want to have, but I can also offer you advice if you are not sure about your needs. Your private lessons can include:

Grammar
Pronunciation and Accent Reduction
Reading and Writing
Speaking and Conversation
Vocabulary building
If you want to study for a test or an exam, or wish to learn English for a specific reason, my lessons can be tailor-made to suit your needs.

Exams and Tests
If you want to sit for a specific test, lessons can be made using the test's syllabus. Some of the tests you may wish to prepare for are:

Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE)
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)

As a tutor I believe in committing myself to a students progression in the subject and catering to a student's specific needs.

My education includes a Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Theatre Studies as well as a Bachelor of Education.

Teaching Experience:

Teaching grades 4, 7 and 8 in Ontario Canada as as student teacher.
London Supply teacher from nursery - year 6 Oct.-Dec 2005.
Currently teaching Year 5 at Surrey Square Junior School since Dec. 2005

Tutoring Approach:

Tutoring is a wonderful opportunity for a child to work one on one or in a small group to make sure their learning needs are met and the subject is taught to them at their particular level from which they can advance. I believe that learning can occur through direct teaching but also through conversational and practical experiences. Its amazing what a trip to the museum can do! Using various resources and turning learning into challenges and games is a wonderful way to channel a child's learning and enthusiasm.

About Carolin:
I am a 21-year old German student in the University of Leicester. I study Spanish with German. My mother tongue is German and I have been learning Spanish since I was 14.

My spoken and written English are both very good because I have spent long periods of time in Canada, Ireland and England since I was young.

Teaching Experience:

In Germany I tutored various school children and teenagers in subjects like English, Spanish, German, Maths and Sciences.

Also, I have been an Au-pair in England twice for 3 months each time and have therefore learnt a lot about children and how to teach them.

Tutoring Approach:

I can tutor students at all levels of the language they would like to improve but I also teach languages from the scratch.

Also, I can help with homework, essays (preferably in German and English), translations and exam preparation.

For me it is important to help my students achieve their goals and to make them feel confident in the subjects they are struggling with.

About Sam:
I am currently reading Physics at the University of Nottingham, and have just completed my second year. I received straight A grades at A-level in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics and am more than proficient in all of the above areas. I am a friendly and easy-going but i also understand the importance of hard work and commitment to obtain good grades.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored AS-level Chemistry and A-level Maths during the holidays of my university. I have also spent 6 months working in a school in Australia teaching and helping in prep in the boarding school (for all sciences, maths and also other areas). I also spent some of my A-level year working as a teachers assistant in a school in Camden with young children.

Tutoring Approach:

For science and maths tutoring there can be no substitute for teaching the basics and building upon them. Once the concepts have been taught there must be an extensive practice of questions which will solidify those concepts in the mind. Only by answering questions can a student really know if they understand the subject material.

About Muhammad:
I am a PhD student at University of Manchester and my majors are computer and electronics engineering. I had my last CRB checked in September 2008 and I am eligible to teach under 16 students. I can tutor after 6:30 PM every weekdays and would prefer non-smoking clients. Apart from in-person teaching I also provide help over phone, internet and post. I don't charge for quick enquiries and the best way to get to me is through this portal. Once accepted you can have my details and then we can further decide on payment, travelling and other issues.

Teaching Experience:

I have been involved in teaching since 2003. I have taught students of various age groups including under 16s and over 32. I started as a teaching assistant at the University of Manchester in 2004 and since then I have been teaching and tutoring at various levels including Further Education Colleges administered by LearnDirect and NCC. I have tutored individuals and group of students. My last job was at Manchester International College where I taught Computer Programming and Java.

Tutoring Approach:

I always prepare lesson plans prior to conducting lecture or individual tutoring. Creating friendly environment where student feels a hunger for knowledge is my first priority and I found it easy. I usually show importance of subject in real life and examples of successful people in same subject. I feel more comfortable in teaching Maths and ICT /IT/Web Design as I have more experience in these subjects. I tutor to save your time and not to waste it. I have full-right to leave tuition if I have found a student not working on given tasks for two appointments. My students have success rate of 100% and I take tuition as a challenge to provide you with 100% success not just in tutored lessons but also in implementation of knowledge in real life.

Tutoring Approach:

I do see teaching a dual interaction where one person helps to reenginner the mind of other snd helps to person to rediscover his/her self potential. In tutoring you are abkle to diagnose the student and be able to understand the needs of the person better thus you can help better. I am a person who cna go down the level of the student and can adjust myself to various needs of the students depending of their personalities. i like to see the progress and be able to help students overcome difficulties mutually.
