I began my Photographic career over twenty years ago, then slowly slipped into Film making as a natural progression.
I have shot photographic projects and films all over the world, and have been an ambassador representing several schools, colleges and universities whilst involved in this work.

I have over twenty years of Photography and Film making experience, working abroad to shoot several short films in Prague, Paris, Africa and China. I have worked with both African and Chinese students in their countries, shooting a variety of Photographic and Film projects, having spent three months, and one month in these respective countries.

I have over twenty years of teaching/training experience in various establishments, Schools, Colleges, Universities, and with various council's throughout the Midlands. I have over twenty years of experience of dealing with a wide variety of students , from various backgrounds. My approach to teaching is a very relaxed, informal one, giving the student ample opportunity to attempt things for themselves, and to allow them to flex their own creative and mental muscles with support and guidance where necessary.

I like to understand my clients' needs, their particular strengths and areas for improvement. I teach the topic in the best possible way to match their learning needs. The key is for them to understand the topic by linking to something which they previously now. This creates a connection in their brain to help them remember and understand the concept long-term. I believe that a clear understanding of theory should be followed up with a range of examination style questions to test if the student has truly understood the work.

It is vital for students to truly get excited about the subject so by using real life examples, they can remember concepts more easily. I believe in going through problems with the students first and showing a clear example, then allowing them to practise until they understand and can do the problems on their own. Furthermore I sometimes guide them in the right direction without actually telling the answer so the child is able to figure it out for themselves. I would follow the syllabus provided and teach every topic in suitable order. Then I had work through past papers and leave them papers and homework on each topic to practise. I would try to create a spark and make the pupils interested in the subject so that they can pursue their further studies with more enthusiasm. Finally, I always listen to the client and exactly what they require so I can adapt my approach.

David works as a Drama Workshop Leader and Acting Coach throughout Surrey and West London.

Teaching Experience:
David has taught drama at a number of schools and part-time theatre schools, as well as having over 20 years experience of coaching pupils for LAMDA drama examinations. As a Drama Consultant, David has worked in schools both running workshops and providing training for primary school teachers on the use of drama in the classroom. In September 2017, I have taken my ambitions to teach guitar further and fully dedicated my third year of studies to learn about ethics in music education, and began work experience with Cornwall Music Service Trust.
