Personal Description:
I currently study Earth Science at Cardiff University and am going into my final year. I hope to pursue a career in sustainable development/ environmental management. I took 2 years out prior to university to gain perspective of the working world as well as take on a lifelong ambition of backpacking South East Asia where I gained priceless memories and new perspectives that have allowed me to truly engage within all aspects of life I apply myself in.
Teaching Experience:
I consider myself to have a vast knowledge of all aspects concerning Earth science / Geography / Geology up to (Russell group) University standard. I believe Earth science encompasses all sciences in a complexly interconnected way and therefore I am well informed in all areas of science including biology, chemistry and physics. I studied Biology, Geography and Geology up to A2 level and have had to effectively learn chemistry and physics up to this level in order to prevail within my Earth science degree. Therefore, I am able to offer substantial support in these areas if needed, but as stated my passion and real knowledge lies within the natural sciences of Geography, Biology and Geology.
Tutoring Approach:
Although I offer a broad range of subjects I can tutor, I encourage you as an individual to effectively communicate the key areas you wish to focus on in order for me to provide the best standard of learning. I hope that through continued sessions we can develop a crucial relationship where you feel both engaged within the content as well as comfortable to express yourself and feel free to ask any questions or concerns so that I can continue to provide the best tutoring experience. I encourage you to have approached the learning material outside of our sessions first so that you are in the best position possible for our sessions where we can build upon your existing knowledge and strengthen any weaker areas. I believe tutoring should be a tailored approach to the individual and so I am entirely flexible to cater my service when discussed, i.e. do you perform best as a more visual, auditory or kinesthetic learner? Feel free to approach me with any questions you might have - there is no such thing as a silly question!
