I had 25 years experience as a research scientist before undertaking a PGCE and guiding my two children through their GCSEs.
I am involved with the running of a local youth football club having coached several girls teams over the years which required a CRB/DBS but now just stick to helping manage the club finances. More recently I've been assisting at an after school library based chess group.

If you are looking for in-person tuition I have spaces available . Areas covered Maths and Science GCSEs (9-1). Also spaces for KS2 maths SATS and KS3 study. I am available for day sessions in term time and holidays if no other suitable time can be found.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring for over eight years now with pupils from KS2 to KS5 with many of my pupils coming via recommendation from previous and current pupils parents. The majority are GCSE Maths and Science together with developing resources for pupils low in confidence in Maths at primary school. The return of exams to just one sitting after 2 years study has been challenging for some pupils together with importance of being able to read and understand the question especially in maths. For those taking GCSE science it is useful to understand the importance of maths in science subjects.



Tutoring Approach:

By creating a relaxed atmosphere I aim to give the tutee confidence in their subject and will tailor the teaching style to meet their individual needs. I encourage the tutee to direct how their time should be spent. In-person tuition allows for greater flexibility and monitoring that the student has grasped the topic of study.
