Dean - Ealing tutor
Information About Dean:
Personal Description:
I am a mathematics teacher with eight years experience mainly at A level. However since 1993 when I began post graduate study at UCL I have always tutored at least one student either at degree level or at A level.Since 1993 I have lived and worked in London but in 2008 I also worked at the University of Warwick near Coventry for 18 months on a research fellowship. I enjoy teaching students whose main interest is mathematics and would like to pursue their studies in mathematics at a top University such as Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, or Warwick. I have taught students who have gained entry to these institutions.
Teaching Experience:
PGCE in secondary mathematics at Goldsmiths College, University of London, 1999. Following this I taught undergraduate problems classes at LSE in 2000. In 2001 I taught for one year at Yesoday Hatorah school in Stamford Hill and was responsible for all mathematics teaching to GCSE level. From 2002 to 2008 I taught mainly A level at Ealing Independent College . I returned to teaching at Ealing Independent College in 2012 to 2014 after a break working in Coventry.
Tutoring Approach:
Getting to know the student's strengths and weaknesses. Much checking of understanding which is the main advantage of tutoring. Helping the student to plan learning for examinations. Plenty of opportunity to work through past examination papers to improve performance.
