Personal Description:

I am working towards a Ph.D. in Mechanical engineering. I am lively and friendly and I enjoy learning as well as teaching.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently tutoring a range of students including National 5, Intermediate 2, Higher, Advanced Higher Physics & Mathematics and University level mathematics. This provides me a broad perspective on the school curriculum and allows me to relate between the different levels and help students fill in any gaps in their knowledge base as well as progress into more advanced topics as their skills develop.

Additionally I have been a Mathematics tutor at the University of Glasgow for three years while doing my Ph.D. During this time I have taught a large number of students with varying levels of ability and helped them get to the standard required for their university career. I have also worked as a private tutor at University level, teaching thermodynamics and fluid/thermal courses.

I have further experience teaching computer programming to second year students and I have worked in Spain teaching English to young children. I like to tailor my teaching approach to the pupils learning style and I am extremely patient and understanding.

Tutoring Approach:

I understand that many students learn in different ways and I try to adapt my style of teaching to the students needs. I am patient and I recognise that mathematics can be a difficult concept to grasp and is something which takes practice. I am friendly and approachable and I try to developed a relaxed and comfortable learning environment. Lastly I really enjoy mathematics and teaching and I think this transfer to the students!
