With photography I teach that a photograph is a language whether is modern expressionalistic, surreal or journalistic. We have to try to understand what the photographer is in fact seeing. Don McCullin and Man Ray are both expressing not only a critique of the outside world but are providing a window into themselves, their deeper nature.
With drama I want the student to experience somehow what the actor is experiencing of what the director wants the audience to feel and/or learn. I'm particularly interesting in conveying the immediate appeal of Peter Brook and finding out, with the student, where Brook and all the other dramatic explorers, what they are saying to us and where they want to take us.

I work with a high level of emotional intelligence and feel the child is happiest and most open to learning without the pressure of feeling responsible for their learning. I will only use positive reinforcement to encourage learning and find having set prizes to earn to be very effective for motivation. What I take the most joy in is tailoring lesson content to the interest of the child, enabling the child to fully engage and enjoy my lessons rather than view them as a chore.

Current Secondary Science Teacher specialising in Physics and Biology, Master of Education from Cambridge University alongside PGCE and 14 year's experience both in the UK and abroad in both private and UK state schools.

I have held a variety of positions from Classroom Teacher up to Head of Department but with a young family I have stepped back from management for the time being. I teach at a local state school in North Tyneside.

Teaching Experience:
14 years teaching both in the UK along with 4 years teaching abroad. I am qualified to teach all sciences to GCSE and Physics and Biology to A-Level. I have worked with classes from 32 down to 1-2-1 tuition with significant value added to pupils from all levels of ability.

I work to ensure that there is understanding of the topic alongside just knowing the facts. My name is Sandra. I'm a native Portuguese speaker from Portugal. I've been teaching European Portuguese in the UK for over 6 years. I have been teaching Portuguese at all levels (A1/A2 - Beginners; B1/B2 - Intermediate; C1/C2 - advanced) and skills (speaking, listening, reading comprehension, writing, grammar). I am a qualified teacher (Master's Degree in Education from the University of Coimbra, Portugal. I am certified to teach Early Childhood, Elementary Education, high school and adults) and a MFL teacher (Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL and ESOL courses) and the GCSE/A level Portuguese and Spanish course from the King's College, London).

Teaching Experience:
When I started teaching Portuguese to new students (adults and children), I told them to use all the words in Portuguese they already knew. From the first minute, we will talk, listen and think in Portuguese. With me, you will learn to speak Portuguese like a real native, including all the expressions that you cannot find in the textbook. You will learn to read books and websites and even to watch Portuguese-speaking series/movies. Our lessons won't seem like traditional learning: you are going to have fun and will be waiting for the next class.

Tutoring Approach:
My lessons are the full hour (60 minutes or more, but never less!). I provide email support to my students and original class materials (pronunciation and grammar) for free.
