I've published three humour books and continue to write for theatre companies and private events. I also spent a total of 2 further years over there in Southern and Northern Germany after my A Levels and during my undergraduate degree to further my knowledge, working for OSRAM GmbH and studying at the Freie Universität Berlin.

I started my career as a Chemical Engineer and completed my PhD in that subject.
In Industry I have worked on Polymers, Pharmaceuticals and ceramics. I have designed towers using principles of Maths and Science and have been able to work out, how long it will take a ceramic to reach a temperature inside a furnace.

I start by assessing the student in terms of present standard and academic potential. Once I have found out the level, I then collaborate with the parent or guardian to set targets.

I qualified as a Spanish teacher in 2010 after completing my PGCE in Spanish with French at Newcastle University. On qualification, I taught Spanish up to GCSE and A level in several state schools in the North East including Durham Johnston and St Joseph's Catholic Academy in Hebburn. After having my own children, I focused on teaching Primary Spanish to fit around my own young family and worked for 7 years at West Jesmond Primary School teaching Spanish across all of Key Stage 2 . Most recently I have taught at Bellingham Middle School where I delivered Spanish to Key Stages 2 and 3.
In terms of current GCSE experience, I am teaching my own daughter the entirety of the Spanish AQA GCSE course at home as she has elected to do French GCSE in school in order to self-study Spanish at home with me as an extra GCSE. Therefore I am completely familiar with the new Spanish AQA GCSE including all exam requirements. Moreover, in the past I have conducted GCSE Spanish speaking exams under the Edexcel specification for external candidates at Whitley Bay High School so I am also familiar with that specification.
In terms of A level, I have previously taught Spanish A level in state secondary schools and have also tutored several A level students including one student who I tutored through the whole of the Spanish A level course as he was unable to study it in his own school.
Finally, I am completely fluent in Spanish and have the DELE Nivel Superior certificate issued by the Instituto de Cervantes in Spain which certifies fluency in the language. My major is Financial and Economic, but I have been learned Guzheng -Traditional Chinese Instrument 10 years and obtain the certification of 10 levels. Guzheng is a plucked, half-tube zither with movable bridges and 21 strings, and has a large resonant cavity made from wutong wood. The performer is able to differentiate between stronger melodic lines and softer accompaniment patterns by using finger plectra on the fingers of her right hand. This can also be used to give effective dynamic contrasts.

These days, I've lived in Yorkshire longer than I lived in Russia, so my life is very much shaped by both cultures. Tutoring Approach:
I teach every aspect of film making from writing screenplays to editing, shooting, acting workshops, producing and film studies. If you want to make a great short film, or music video, I can help.

Bonjour!
I am a fully qualified, native French teacher (PGCE from the University of Portsmouth, Summer 1994).
I am married with two older children, themselves going through examinations at the moment. I also have four cats.

Teaching Experience:
I came to the UK in 1993, started teaching in a school in Sept. 1994 and teaching privately in 1998.
I no longer teach at a school but instead, teach privately to individuals or small groups.

I have been an examiner since 1998 so I am very aware of the skills and knowledge required by examination boards. I am currently a team leader for French GCSE and an examiner for A2.

I have taught a wide range of students over the years: KS3, GCSE and A Level, adult learners, younger children and adults in a business environment.

Tutoring Approach:
What I enjoy the most is to see people make big improvements and become confident with their French, from the moment they start to understand how the language works.
I am a good communicator and feel that I can understand people`s difficulties quickly so we can work on those aspects and start to make progress, once the foundations have been put (back) in place.

I am a dedicated, hard working and well organised person who enjoys seeing her pupils do well and (re)gain confidence.
I plan all my lessons very methodically and provide all papers / worksheets to my pupils. I also set homework and, more importantly, mark it! Very often, pupils will email me to ask me to check a piece of writing / homework that they are working on, and I am happy to help them with this too.

Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic student of classics and ancient history, very passionate about teaching. I have learned Greek and Latin in university, and enjoyed learning them very much. I want to share my enthusiasm for the topic and teach Greek and Latin to others. I have an MA in ancient history from Durham University, and have finished my PhD in the same topic at UCL.

Besides Greek, Latin, classics and ancient history, I am also familiar with Babylonian, Assyrian, Egyptian hieroglyphs, Aramaic, Old Persian and Modern Persian (Farsi), all of which I can tutor as well.

Taught for Greek and Latin at UCL from 2018-2021.

Tutored Modern Persian, classical Greek and Latin since 2016.

Tutoring Approach:
I always thought that languages are easy marks when I was at school. This remains true: languages are the easiest place for the student to get guaranteed marks in their studies - the problem is that people learn languages in different ways and this is where I can help. Through the years I have worked with many different students and know both the material and different teaching styles inside out.

My goal is to make the language not only an easy way to easy marks, but also a very enjoyable prossess. I see them as gateways into fascinating cultures and literature, and my students tend to agree.
