I am a 34 year-old prize-winning Masters graduate in Mathematics from Oxford University, and I also hold Top Candidate Notifications for my performances in A-level maths and further maths, and another such notification for my performance in GCSE Statistics. Traversing the mathematical landscape is an art; it can be a very uncomfortable environment for some. I find it so important to make my students feel at ease and to find confidence in their maths and so important to be friendly and patient. I am not a suited, booted assessor, nor old-school, to be frank! At university I was lucky enough to find myself one to whom others turned with maths troubles: I have been depended on to explain advanced maths effectively for years. I am sure this accounts for two more areas of particularly positive feedback I've received as a tutor: in explaining concepts and in effectively dealing with problems as they arise.

I provide tuition either at my home in central Cheltenham, or at the homes of students within a 30-mile radius of it (dependent on particular location).

After completing my D.Phil from the University of Oxford, I worked for 7 years as a Senior Biologist for a small drug discovery company where I was responsible for screening new drug targets in tissue models for human disease. Over the years I've had so many comments from students/colleagues about my ability to break subjects down to ease understanding, and coupled with my passion for science and sharing that with others I decided to change career and become a full-time science tutor. I've never looked back!

I am also a freelance examiner for Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) - examining is invaluable to my role as a science tutor and to the development of my students' abilities in preparation for their examinations. My goal in teaching Turkish is to help my students confidently express themselves in everyday conversation, professional correspondence, and academic language.
