I am passionate about helping young people succeed in Mathematics and believe that every student can achieve success with the right support. My aim is not only to improve grades, but also to build confidence, resilience and problem-solving skills that extend beyond the classroom.

Every student learns differently, so I tailor lessons to individual needs, whether that involves strengthening core understanding, preparing for exams, boosting confidence or challenging high-attaining students to reach their full potential.

Teaching Experience:
Over the years, I have taught Mathematics across the secondary and post-16 curriculum, including Pure Mathematics, Statistics, Mechanics and Discrete Mathematics. I have marked National 5 and Higher Mathematics examinations, and my experience as both a teacher and examiner helps students develop strong mathematical understanding alongside effective exam technique.

In addition to classroom teaching, I have held leadership roles as Assistant Head of Department and Head of Department.

Tutoring Approach:
My tutoring begins by identifying a student's strengths, areas for development and personal goals. Together, we create a clear plan to build confidence, improve understanding and achieve success.

I firmly believe that success in Maths is not about natural ability; it comes from effective explanations, practice, perseverance and the right support. I create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes.

I offer both online and in-person tuition and am available during weekday evenings. I tutor National 5 Mathematics, National 5 Applications of Mathematics, Higher Mathematics, GCSE Mathematics, and A Level Mathematics (Pure, Statistics and Mechanics).
